Best time to hit the 'Reduced To Clear' section?

Never had much luck in Waitrose anyway. The reductions are often paltry, insulting even. I would rather spend the extra 40p and get fresher food.

"It is a circus culture in which a horde of people – most of whom can afford to pay full price"

Totally agree with this. The most aggressive, sneaky and prolific tramps buffet feeders are normally women in their 50's and 60's who you can tell can perfectly well afford a decent weekly shop at Waitrose, but still stalk the reduced to clear section at Tesco with beady eyes, grabbing everything they possibly can, before going over to the poor person with the reducing gun to try and blag even more off those duck breasts.

M&S is normally a good one for me. But if the older ladies i mention above have got there before you earlier in the day be prepared to find nothing left.

Waitrose is good for end-of-day reductions but there's not always much left coz people will still buy it at 50p off. My local one scrapped the reduced shelf last week but it's already rematerialised in the sandwich section in the evenings. Reckon it'll be better this way because more people will miss the first round of reductions that haven't been moved yet

I welcome this Waitrose development as a return to the gentlemanly sport of old rather than the unseemly scramble that is, alas, so common today.

Got £13.31 worth of meat and fish for £3.72 in Waitrose tonight, not bad. Missed out on some cod because another customer distracted me by asking if I wanted some of the tuna steaks they'd picked up :facepalm::mad:

I got some half price mushrooms and Bombay potato in Aldi.

They seemed to be overstocking on fresh stuff, shelves were full but so were the aisles with trolleys of more to put out.

This coronavirus bullshit has completely ruined The Great Game. I've had to have a root and branch re-order on how I shop for and cook dinners. bastard.
Same. Least I have a freezer full of reduced meat/fish and batch cooked meals from times I got 2kg of veg for 20p or whatever, though

No idea what Waitrose across the road from me is like for reductions now, not been back since last week when it was heaving and some bloke looked like he was about to punch the woman coughing and sneezing while she picked up reduced bakery counter loaves then put them back again

got loads of cheap game meat at Waitrose - lots of deli stuff is being reduced cos of the situation i think - loads of venison and veal mince for about £1 a pack, and loads of stewing steak too. in the freezer it goes

What time did you go? I fancy some waitrose action, but only really want to attempt it in an empty shop early doors.
