The seeds are fine to eat though - adds extra roughage and melons won't grow in your guts, unlike apple trees which we all know do if you eat the pips.
I find watermelons a bit boring. Although not as boring as people who say 'you haven't tried watermelon until you've been to <insert exotic location where they did exactly what they do here, only hotter>'.
Just a bit watery, odd texture and annoying seeds. Relies on sweetness. Not bad mind you, just prefer the texture and flavour of a properly ripe honeydew/cantaloupe.
I haven't heard of loads of these. Round ones with orange flesh are nice (cantaloupe?), and I had some watermelon this week for the hot weather and it was lovely.
