Best Posh Chocolate !

Treated myself to '3 for £15' chocolates at hotel chocolat at a train station last week. Will not be bothering again. Waste of calories.
It used to be 3 for £10 which seemed somewhat reasonable as a bit of an occasional treat along the lines of birthday or Xmas gift even on a tight budget.
When they put it up to £15 I was fuck no.

Does Green & Blacks still exist? Their slightly more cocoa milk chocolate is the best. I used to order it online but it seems to be very scarce these days.

It was bought by Cadbury which itself then became part of Mondelez :(
So yes, still exists, but not in its previous form.

Not posh as such, I've just come home to a bag of milk chocolate covered pistachio's which were from a well known shop. Not bad.

I ate some Venchi chocolate last night. Mrs Tag swears she can smell it coming out of my pores this morning.

I bought some of their macarons the other day and they were tasteless, awful things. Maybe the start of the Mars buy-out decline in quality has begun.

The price of quality chocolate seems to have escalated to ludicrous levels.

I was in Covent Garden the other day and thought I'd treat us to some Godiva chocolates but they want £85 now for a decent sized box. £85!!! It was never cheap, but I used to buy their 500g boxes and it was half that price I'm sure.

As I understand it, climate change is wreaking havoc on chocolate production - I've even heard it said that we'll only have chocolate at all for something like the next 20 years if things carry on the way they are.

It's not surprising if you look at the ingredients - Hotel Chocolat products are full of crap, yet they charge as if for a much better product.
I bought a box of chocolates to say thank you to a nurse who was nice to me, then read the side of the box and

Enjoyed this one from Lidl the other day... The actual chocolate pattern is very similar to Tony's Chocolonely.

It has a very strong taste of pistachio in it and is delicious. At a mere £7.00 ( I think)
for 100gms it wasn't cheap.
Chocolate's rapidly rising in price anyway, I noticed the Aldi 'Dessert chocolates" have about five in the box this year compared with about nine in previous years, sometimes think prices rise disproportionately at the lower end so that the upper end is less unachievable and you may as well go high end but have it rarely. Booo !
