Rififi, a really nice moody noir with an astonishing central scene - an entire half hour with no dialogue or music.

I was just reading about that scene on the BFI site! It's the quintessential gangster film apparently.

The early Bardot films are good. But they can be a bit patchy. Arguably Et Dieu Crea La Femme or Le Mepris are the best of her early work. (She is also credited with being the first fully nude woman to be filmed in the UK for the shower scene in Dr At Sea)
