Attacking trade unions and trade unionism

Two attacks on the RMT, one local at Manchester Piccadilly:

Peter is now back at his job:
10 Jun 2022 — I've just been informed by Peter that following a call from his manager at Carlisle Support Services he's been informed TPE will allow him to return to his job this week!

Thanks to all for support, solidarity and signing the petition. Thanks to the members for rallying to his cause. Thanks to the executive for their support for our resolution. This shows exactly what trade unionism and standing together is all about and can achieve, client removal cannot go unchallenged!

Solidarity!

The "GMB 3" appeared in court in Hastings this week, plead not guilty, next court date is Brighton Crown Court on 16th November:

Where I work there's been reports of a flasher in one of the buildings and contrary to the tenor of this article it's no laughing matter
One of my stranger days while working at a Uni involved chasing a guy who had been hiding in the bushes masturbating at passing female students. Three of us took up the pursuit but for a man clad in nothing but a T-shirt and a pair of trainers he put on a remarkable turn of speed and escaped into a nearby housing estate.

Crossposting from the strike thread, Polyflor in Radcliffe (near Bury) have locked their workforce out after they voted to strike:

It doesn't seem to be super well-publicised as yet, and I suppose the likelihood of there being any urbs in the M45 area who are free on Thursday daytime may be fairly slim, but the locked-out workers have apparently called a demo for Thursday morning:

Try getting in touch with CWU in the area. We are on strike that day and pickets should be over by then...the bigger the turnout the better. Fucking lockout...is this the 19th century?

Good suggestion, thanks for that.

GMB 3 case came to court:

THREE GMB officers accused of wilful obstruction were in court this morning following disruptions on the Biffa picket line last year.

Riot Police descended on the Biffa’s Amberstone depot in Hailsham in May last year when workers were on strike over pay on conditions in the company.

Social media posts showed the moment the action was taken by officers and three union workers were handcuffed. Biffa workers told Hailsham News more than twenty riot Police officers stopped them from blocking the depot gates.

The three appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court this morning (Friday) where they were found not guilty after no evidence was put forward.
Fucking Clown Prosecution Service at their finest there, then. Original arrests were in May, so close to a year people would've had charges hanging over their head for seemingly no reason.

Interesting article on 'The Home Desk' an anti communist section of the Home Office who , amongst other actions , tried to reduce the influence of the CPGB in trade unions
