EVERYBODY OUT IN THE STREETS - PROPYLEA 13.30

6TH OF DECEMBER WE DON'T FORGET WE DON'T FORGIVE

Respect to Stella, Dimitris, DeepStoat and everyone else stepping up over there - look after each other, and best wishes to you all :)

RIP Alexis - never forgotten.

I'm pleasantly suprised by the diversity of the anarchists in Greece.

We've been searched again but now we're pefecting the dumb Britons on holiday routine.

Very quick update from me and I am out of the pc. All the arrested are going to be given charges, especially the ones of RESALTO are even about to face the counter terrorism law. The only thing that was found in RESALTO was empty bottles of beer and petrol, you have to take in account though that they use a petrol stove for heating. I bet that these material can be found at anyone home really... RESALTO existed for more than 10 years, and their only activity has always been to produce leaflets, a newspaper etc. The police says that the ones arrested at the Keratsini town hall, did damages to the building, but the only damage that was finally found was the broken glass door at the entrance, as in this way they got in.

Some photos of last night and this morning in Exarchia can be found here http://athens.indymedia.org/front.php3?lang=el&article_id=1201697
Keep in mind that athens indymedia has heavy traffic and in occasions it crashes, if you can not load the page please retry in a few minutes do not refresh the page continuously.

Today demos have been organized in nearly all towns of Greece.

Apart from all that you already know, the night was rather peaceful, the demo is starting in about an hour though, so I am out of the pc for now.

I can safely say Greece does a good impression of a police state.

We were searched 5 times in about 2 hours by under cover cops.

I will NOT apologize for what I'll say and I don't give a toss if I get banned.

This kind of democracy they can put it where the sun doesn't shine

They attacked the demo before it even started , and during by tear gas by stones that the swine were throwing back inside the blocks of the demo and with motorbikes against demonstrators on foot at points of the demo where there wasn't cohesion

More than 60 the detainments

An elderly woman demonstrator member of EEK (radical left party)is in hospital seriously injured after a swine on motobike attacked the demonstrators at the lower side of Syntagma square

from libcom "...In Athens the protest march called at 13:00 in Propylea was attacked by riot police forces before even starting. Protesters fought back erecting flaming barricades and forcing the police to retreat with use of rocks. Protesters also occupied the rectorial headquarters of the University of Athens in Propylea, lowering the greek flag and flying a black flag in its place. The march continued to Omonoia square where more clashes took place and several shops were destroyed -one consumed in flames. At Syntagma square motorised police forces (Delta team) charged the march from Ermou street. After the charge the Delta-team thugs dismounted and threw rocks at the protesters. As a cause of the police orgy in violence, an elderly member of the Worker’s Revolutionary Party-Trotskyist (EEK) has been reported to be in serious condition due to head injuries: Ms Koutsoumbou, a veteran prisoner of the anti-dictatorship struggle, was hit by a Delta force motorbike during the mounted charge on the crowd. According to Savas Michail, leading member of EEK and major radical philosopher, Ms Koutsoumbou is in intensive care having received far worse hits than during her tortures by the colonels' junta. One more man has been hospitalised with serious injuries. At the time 60 people are reported detained...." http://libcom.org/news/riots-police...ros-grigoropoulos-murder-anniversary-06122009

at 3.40 of the video is possibly the woman lying in the street waiting for the ambulance - for any greeks that are going to watch this close the sound of the spineless "journalist's comments" it is vile

the greek flag is down, obviously what it should represent is forgotten absolutely by this vile government - again the comments from the spineless "journalists" not worth listening

from the university of athens in front of propilea

We were trapped where I believe the woman was attacked. The filth split the demo up between two blocks, fired tear gas in and waded in with batons. The crowd panicked understandably and the trots didn't help blocking people out with their batons.

Clashes have broken out between police and protesters in Athens as the city marks the first anniversary of the fatal police shooting of a teenager.

Riot police fired tear gas at demonstrators as they marched. People were throwing rocks at police, and rubbish bins were set on fire. The protests are nothing like the riotous scenes of last year, a BBC correspondent says. But aggressive tactics have not endeared police to protesters, he adds. The streets of Athens are filling up with young people dressed in anarchist black as they mark the first anniversary of what for them was a major uprising. Squads of police in riot gear, who after the shooting last year, were regarded as the enemy of youth, are stationed on every street corner. Business along the planned route of the big demonstration have pulled down the steel shutters.

Hello quick note from me and I am off, as a memorial ceremony for Alexis is under way at his murder point in Exarchia.

Thanks to Stella for the detailed news, unfortunately I do not have the stamina and the clear thought in order to search the web for links. I will only tell you what I did see with my eyes.

The demo started at Propylaia, in the center of Athens, as all the demos start anyway. Even from the very beginning it was attacked by the police, with extensive use of chemicals, and the comrades responded with stones, fruits and petrol bombs. The university building got taken over by comrades, as well as the building with the offices of the dean etc. It was an effort to take over those buildings as the police was trying to prevent it. The demo started strong, with more than 7000 demonstrators. A lot of anti police banners and slogans, people from the whole left movement of Greece, teenagers, middle aged people, a big mix of people really in the demo.

The demo started but trouble with the police did not finish. At more than 1 points from the side the police tried to break the demonstration, but it was impossible to do so. The demo continued strong and firm towards Syntagma square, the main square of Athens. There police from the Delta and Zita forces (both forces on motorbikes and motorcycles) decided to attack the demo as you did see on the videos that Stella provided. The Delta forces had to flee, as they were outnumbered and lost their motorbikes and some gear as well. Then a big number of motorbikes again attacked, but this time against the Trotskist block that existed on the demo, injuring some of them, especially a middle aged woman, and detaining some. The demo continued towards the building of the greek parliament and then returned towards Propylaia, where clashes against the police continued, with comrades making road blocks on the nearby streets. During the whole duration of the demo, some incidents at Propylaia were taking place, as some comrades had remained behind and were attacking the police with stones. Incidents there continued until earlier, when I think the last comrades left.

In Exarchia here, road blocks have been formed, by people of Exarchia, in order to prevent the police from approaching the murder point of Alexis, where the ceremony is going to take place. I am out of here now, hopefully I will be able to give you a more detailed and better coverage later, as I will have things in my mind organized better.

An another big demo is organized for tomorrow, by students this time.

Our "democratic" police forces, have detained a HUGE number of people, more than 100, I am not sure of the exact number, and a lot of these people, will be arrested.

One thing is certain. Nothing will remain without an answer.

EVERYBODY ON THE STREETS

I do not want to be out of order so I'll just ay this : The fascist police state of this government made arrests (detainments for identification purposes) even from the assasination site at Mesolongiou and I'll leave it for those who can remain cool, I can NOT

Mate it starts at the same place as yesterdays one, at 12:00. It is a school and student demo.

Some photos here : http://athens.indymedia.org/front.php3?lang=el&article_id=1202042
also here : http://athens.indymedia.org/front.php3?lang=el&article_id=1202017

some more here : http://athens.indymedia.org/front.php3?lang=el&article_id=1202080

According to the official story of the police, a policeman fell and injured the poor woman on the head with his.... arm, no we are all fucking blind and do not watch the video properly you see .....:mad::mad:

Also something different... Today there was also a Panathinaikos vs Atromitos football match. The Panathinaikos fans attacked against the police outside the Olympic Stadium (OAKA) and a bit later on the Atromitos fans also joined them on the attack.

A couple of photos here : http://athens.indymedia.org/front.php3?lang=el&article_id=1201976

Let me remind you here that Alexis was a Panathinaikos fan.

The situation in Exarchia is rather tense, there are no clashes but there is police EVERYWHERE, no matter where you want to go you have to pass exactly next from RIOT police, Delta, Zita or undercover police. A lot of public on the streets here but nothing can be done really....

A message from the taken over Polytechnic building

Because the ministers say nothing we will speak

Because our media do not say anything and do not combine facts we will combine them for them

- The military type raid at the anarchist social center Resalto in Keratsini
A center of alternative information that as all other struggle centers never tried to hide its hostility against the oppressors and its solidarity against the oppressed openly and publicly.

Something that the minister (of protection of the public) does not like

- The arrest on the same night of everyone that gathered in solidarity to their comrades at a nearby square and then at the Town Hall of Nikaia but also of the ones who gathered at the murder point of Alexis Grigoropoulos one year after it.

Something that the minister also does not like

The heavy policed Athens, the 13000 cops, the body searches, the isolation of the Polytechnic building, the anxiety in order to repress the gathering and demo of 6/12

But the minister is going to be bothered even further.

His terrorism plans are going to fail.

The coworkers of Alexis killers did not make the people to fear, but they made them angry.

The arrests of our comrades and the heavy charges against them do not make us uncomfortable, but they stimulate our solidarity to them.

The attacks against social centers, squats and the areas of social struggle will not bring isolation but more determination and passion.

NOBODY SHOULD BE A HOSTAGE IN THE HANDS OF THOSE MURDERERS

FREEDOM TO THE 22 COMRADES OF RESALTO WHO ARE CHARGED FOR CRIMES AND THE REST 44 COMRADES WHO WERE ARRESTED WHILE SHOWING THEIR SOLIDARITY AND ARE NOW IN TRIAL AT THE COURT OF PEIRAIUS.

FREEDOM TO THE 12 ARRESTED AT EXARCHIA, DURING THE STAGED POWER SHOW OF THE POLICE.

RESISTANCE TO THE PLANNED REPRESSION

MASSIVE ANSWERS TO THEIR MURDERS, ATTACKS AND ARRESTS. TO THEIR LIES AND MISS INFORMATION

THEY BET THAT WE WILL COMPROMISE AT THE END BUT THEY ARE MISTAKEN

EVERYBODY ON THE STREETS
