i wouldn't be surprised if the people who've called for wenger's head regret it before the end of next season.
if you look at arsenal's performance for the 22 years before wenger took over you'll see rather more mediocre finishes than have happened since. and in that time - from 1974 on - there were many, many years without a trophy. fa cup 79, league cup 87, the league in 89 & 91, the fa and league cup in 93 and of course the cup winners' cup in 94.

I have recalled the tale of the gooner I knew in the late 90s who ranted at length at how wenger should go NOW,. Wenger had only been in the job a month or something.

i'm gutted because i'd rather be there or thereabouts each season, and for us to be in sixth or seventh and challenging for a european trophy on our off seasons. and i don't believe the current arsenal board have the footballing nous of david dein's little finger.

the way i'm feeling reminds me of the day in 2001 when sol campbell signed for arsenal. i went up the auld innisfree on ballards lane for my dinner, liquid as i recall, and nearly had a pint poured on my head by a spurs fan who drank there and didn't welcome the news. i know now how that spurs fan felt, a bit of a kick in the gut.
he's likely dead now and the pub's gone anyway.

i've nothing against it. always more of a moss / torrington / tally ho man myself tho. think the last time i was in the bohemia it was a firkin
and now the moss is the elephant, the torrington's a fading memory and the tarty whore's under new management. miss the auld cockroach, the coach and horses, too.
d'you recall the saturday night entertainment, before the foul arts depot was built, when there was a really good fight by the auld bus station? before that man was killed by a van, anyway, that rather put an end to it.
