Take any football tips off him with a pinch of salt . Ireland got humiliated in the playoffs for qualification .ummm i think we may
I avoided one today, nice fella actually but very bitter for some reason like many.
He is Pro Brexit(so not all bad ha) very very vocal about it infact.
Just not good to talk to him about football, gets very irate if you have a different viewpoint.
Even said Ireland would have a better chance of winning the world Cup than the English National side.
Here's the article he references (which I've only skimmed through so far):I’m of an age that grew up rooting for Brazil in every World Cup. In the earliest of those days no African nation managed to get a side into the finals and no black player was getting picked for the England squad. England was Babylon on and off the pitch. Our riposte as black Britons was the Brazil squads of the ‘70s and ‘80s. They were the Harlem Globetrotters (yeah I’m that old) of football - flamboyant and a world apart in skill and proficiency that almost mocked all who dared challenge them. Pele became a symbol of black pride enabling us to pour scorn on a nation that disrespected us.
This World Cup has seen two major shifts for me, and many others it seems. One is the demise (over the last two tournaments) of the pride giving joyous display of flair and skill from Brazil and other black populated Latin American sides. Footballing ability seems to have been replaced by other pursuits - rugby, wrestling and acting come to mind. The other is Gary Southgate’s England management which seems to have jettisoned jingoistic, self-entitled arrogance in bringing to the World Cup England's most ethnically diverse and youthful side in the tournament’s history.
I’m not quite singing "Football's Coming Home”, my personal politics won’t let me go that far, but David Olusoga provides a reasoned rationale here for what was once for me unthinkable.
But nobody is asking non-England fans to cheer for England.Fair play to you Cunty. You've had your money's worth out of this one.
Dunno what all the fuss is about TBH. An integral part of being a football fan is to have a team you love to 'hate'.
Try telling a French or Dutch person they should cheer on Germany cos they are next door neighbours.
How many Ukranians do you think were cheering their Russian next door neighbours?
Good luck in a Manchester pub telling them they should have been cheering Liverpool on against Madrid. Or telling Barca fans they should have been cheering Real. Here's a tip.. order your ambulance in advance.
Doesn't seem to matter how many times you say itBut nobody is asking non-England fans to cheer for England.
My experience both in Harlesden and Moss Side was that most black people born in England supported England in the World Cups in the 70/80s on the grounds that England was their home . When Jamaica qualified ( mainly due to the Jamaican FA seeking out players who had Jamaican parents or grand parents , a bit like the Irish FA did in seeking players with Irish heritage in the 80s) they supported both teams .A friend of a friend posted this on FB, which chimes a bit with my own experience:

Southgate’s England team reflect the best of us. It feels good to embrace them | David Olusoga
But nobody is asking non-England fans to cheer for England.
you would be surprised- i have had MC England fans ( the post PL and Euro 96 , Loaded reading crowd) expressingly increduility that I do not want England to win- " But we would want you to do well, we would support you if you were in the same situation" teary eyed guardian beautiful game/ three lions/ summer of 66 bollocks they have digested on youtube in preparation for office *bantz*.
Fuck off. I dont need your sympathy to support my team of perennial losers and goal difference exiteers.
The hard core of long time , full on WC England fans - even the now dying breed of hoolies- would not have tolerated this hand wringing mealy mouthed shit. They understand how this works.
I am grudging accepting that england are on a fantastic and maybe lucky run. Still ABE though.
/scowling misery
It was great where i was Black _white all sorts, no matter , drinking all enjoying themselves together
Dancing in the streets, sarf London come alive.
So much misery and horrible fuckers about in this world, just a nice change.
As i said earlier even run out of Cider !
If only we could clear all the shit out, ALL mps for example and just get one person to make the rules and lead the country.my personal bile aside, this is a good thing

Like a dictatorship? If only we could clear all the shit out, ALL mps for example and just get one person to make the rules and lead the country.
New system needed.
With big Ron Atkinson as Supreme HelmsmanLike a dictatorship?
Looks like that won't embed... and it's on a closed fb group page.
Suffice to say that it consists of drunken England fans happily chanting 'Tiocfaidh ar lá' (blissfully unaware that it is a long-time slogan of the Republican movement) before resuming "Iss cammin' 'ome"
Just bit more on my experience of the SWP in the 80s and the World Cup.
2) we are sitting in the back seats on a coach coming back from some demo. We have some cans and what was called in those days a ghetto blaster with a tape in it and are playing 'world in motion' by New Order . Some lickspittle comes up and tells us we are supporting a soft version of imperialism by playing that song. So we ask him if the party line is that if we are in a club should we no platform it . Lickspittle replies that we should patiently explain to the DJ that class unites and imperialism divides. We go back to playing the record and cracking a few more cans open.
Yes, the media arrogance which fuels the jingoism gets tiresome. And the endless bitterness towards Germany. France. Argentina.
That said, am enjoying England this time round and I genuinely wish them well in the next game.
So you've not enjoyed any of it so far? There's only four games left!I seem to remember every non-England game on TV being ruined by commentators still droning on about England, and then at half-time going to check out what Peter Beardsley is doing by the pool, or watch 'the lads' play ping-pong, or some other bollox. Once England are out the rest of us can just enjoy the football.

Both work just as well.Confirmed? Don't you mean self-confessed?
Indeed, however there are plenty of words that have several meanings, and in this case the hypo isn't referring to the level of "cuntness".Not wanting to split hairs, but "hypocunt" implies something with very low cuntness.
Like "hypoglycaemia"
Well the OP (Masterbaiter) is a shit stirring specialist, so it's hardly surprising.Fair play to you Cunty. You've had your money's worth out of this one.
Well I can't speak for others, however I've never said that I hated England, I have a preference for the other team to win. That is enough to raise the heckles of the lunds and they appear to get rather anxious and agitated. Pity the fools.Dunno what all the fuss is about TBH. An integral part of being a football fan is to have a team you love to 'hate'.
...and the problem with that is what exactly? Even if that were true, wth should it bother anyone else?Except this is an English person, hoping England lose. It isn't a Manc hoping scousers lose, or vice versa... etc.
