Are You "Anyone But England"?

I am Scottish, want England to lose, and there’s nothing you can do about it ;)

Haha in all honesty i don’t really mind.

I went to Wimbledon the other year and was cheering for Andy Murray as much as anybody.
I also think Connery was the best bond, thou everybody tells me it was Moore.
Dont much like Andy Gray thou.

Is it Volume 1 or 2?

oh no not a second is there.
If so im out
The size of it, tbh never thought her life was that exciting to have that amount of pages
Mind i think Danny Baker has two volumes out and his only got up to the age of 28 so far !

This thread is missing hipipol :thumbs:
Sorry mate, the "new" and more slender me, has had to ease off a little on the frothy lipped, stroke inducing rants, instead I have been reduced to a single, abuse lite, keeping the hand in but no more comment on the Sweden V England thread - which I believe you have already stumbled across. Didn't watch the game but I am reliably informed it was exciting and well won, so good luck in the next two.....:)

I didn't know Andy Gray had played Bond?
Im sure he thinks he could have played him given the chance.
Maybe with his Mate Richard keys alongside him playing a villan type role.
I can see him now with those hairy hands stroking something hairy on his
ooohh errr this has all gone a bit wrong and off track

Cat Stroking synonymous with Villany in Bond World, still that Andy G, perfect for the cat rectum close-up finale which I fear was the conclusion your fantasy was headed for.......

Well, I was born in London and have a British passport, so geographically English.

I just mostly prefer whoever England are playing to win...which for some reason really bothers English people a lot.

...I just enjoy it quietly.

You really don't want to just write Yes I am English, eh? And you prefer England's opponents to win .. is that limited to International football or does it encompass all international competitions? Does it mean you prefer English people to do worse than anyone else in other areas of life too?

I have to admit I don't get why you do care enough to actually enjoy England losing at the football, but then post

IT'S ONLY A GAME PEOPLE....IT'S ONLY A GAME.

Then,

Perhaps you all need to adopt a more Millwall like attitude to the tiny minority of ABE naysayers who don't conform to the jingoistic groupthink.

"We are Eng-Lund, we are Eng-Lund...no one likes us...we don't care"

Maybe you should go to an international match sometime, so you'd have more perspective on the attitudes of away fans at a game than what you seem to have picked up from the pub or worse still, the news.

Or maybe you'd rather keep your prejudice unburdened by insight. Up to you, but it's not a great look.

I have a suspicion that the level of attention counts for more than how his postings make him look... :hmm:

I'm sure that's true, I just don't get why someone would wish their own side to lose. Like, if you don't care then don't care. I personally don't care. England win or lose, I don't care. But there are evidently people like this who do care and want their own side to lose, and I don't understand that. I'd like to, but I have a feeling it is truly just a pose and if England actually won the world cup PaoloSanchez would secretly love it.

I'm not sure PaoloSanchez really cares who wins or loses. What he cares about is being edgy and controversial on Urban so as to get lots of people paying him attention.

I didn't have quite such a cynical view of him until this thread, TBF...

Also, the more I read ''Ing-lund'' as a kind sarcastic slur, the more annoyed I'm getting. As if the word England doesn't have a schwa in its second syllable; ie. It's not /ɪŋgland/, it's /'ɪŋglənd/ .. which could just as well be spelled ''Inglund'' since it's how the word is said by normal people, normally. Only someone who just hated everybody could possibly want to use it as a--

Oh, I get it.

You have to take into account that these people may not be the brightest of sparks.

You mean Weegie. Still wouldnae caw 'im 'at tae 'is face but.

Weegie is a slang term referring to people from Glasgow in Scotland, which is used as a noun or adjective. It is a contraction of the word Glaswegian, referring to people from Glasgow.

PanchoSanchez is kevin keegan, he has England issues

Fair play to you Cunty. You've had your money's worth out of this one.

Dunno what all the fuss is about TBH. An integral part of being a football fan is to have a team you love to 'hate'.

Try telling a French or Dutch person they should cheer on Germany cos they are next door neighbours.

How many Ukranians do you think were cheering their Russian next door neighbours?

Good luck in a Manchester pub telling them they should have been cheering Liverpool on against Madrid. Or telling Barca fans they should have been cheering Real. Here's a tip.. order your ambulance in advance.
