Anthony Birley 1937-2020

The Vindolanda Trust conveys with great sorrow that Professor Anthony Birley (Tony) died peacefully in his sleep early during the morning of Saturday December 19th at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

Very sad. I teach the CLC and used to teach Minimus so the work of the Birleys bulks large in my classes.
