I'm sick of it now. Meetings and events its 'you guys' this and 'our guys' that.
For example when negotiating 'what we can do to help you guys' etc if there are men and women on the other side of the table.
I understand why. Its a gender-neutral term for a group of people. However I am from Stafford, not California.
its a tricky one. Only alternatives I can think of are:
- "you people" (too much like a Prince Philip expression when talking about the lower orders)
- 'you lot' (sounds a bit disparaging)
