Alternative Euro 2004: U75 Team Needed

I want to repeat that I can provide a full kit free of charge, though no-one seems to think its a good idea.

I do understand we don't have to worry about it at the moment though.

I'm up for that. Free kit - sounds good to me. Yeah, no worries at the minute.

Ah! I missed that  Sounds like a good idea, it'll save us some cash anyway.

I meant on loan, but its shirts, shorts and socks - in Newcastle colours.

I may actually be picking it up (to store over the summer) tonight from another player (a goalkeeper - I know its meant to be for Urbanites) who has a smaller place - so it goes in my loft!

Nice one. Lookign forward to tonight!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, but dreading the first few kicks with my bruised (I think) foot. Its on the top of my foot, slightly behind my toes (on my right foot, exactly where you connect to shoot [or are supposed to]).

If the crunch comes to the crunch (we'll see in the next cpl of sessions) and we don't have a keeper, I can actually play in goal. I'm loud and can marshall the team from the back, no word of a lie. I'm back up keeper for my work team, our main goalkeeper is an actual keeper and is truly blinding but I'm good enough to be back up to him, maybe it's the gaelic football background.

The thing is, I just don't want to play there, but if I aint up to the task outfield (gaffers decision) then I'll play in the goal. My main position is central defender (and I am disciplined enough to stay there) and I quite like the idea of an early Henchoz Hyppia partnership with Relahni and I. 2 Liverpool boys marshalling the defense.

I like your tactics, well the concept Rollem, we can discuss tonight.

I think we need to work amongst ourselves tonight before playing anyone up there, have a warm up, some ball work, discuss tactics, then play.

And ChrisF - that first pint afterwards is enough of an end tunnel light to look forward to and give it our all beforehand.... :D

Brixton Hatter/Flimsier, looking forward to meeting/playing with ya and Ringo nice to have met you in the pub that night and looking forward to playing with you too.

As Mills Lane would say "Let's get it on"

That's your metatarsal mate, I broke mine a cpl of years ago, it's a bitch of a bone when it gets damaged.

I like the idea of playing central defence too - but will play anywhere gaffer wants.

Agreed with the get together first idea. Maybe do some two touch, triangles, shooting and stuff.

There was also that thing ChrisF was on about on Monday - fuck knows what it's called - basically sprinting then walking etc. To get sharpness back. It's all good.

I'll run some ideas/warm up strategies we do in the work team by ya'll tonight and see what you think, it's very good and as I mentioned earlier it knackered me more than the actual game.

Its not broken. It doesn't hurt enough (and I haven't actually done anything to it!) I'm a bit confused about why it actually hurts.

sorry mate, I din't mean it was broken, but that area is your metatarsal, the ligaments etc.. around it are some of the most susceptible in our foot so it's probably an inflamed sinew or something.

It appears I have plantar fasciitis - so I won't be about this evening or in future I don't think.

sorry to hear that the B - at the start of such a promising career too :(
we have a manager, but we don't have a hooligan element as yet!

shite, whats that then the b? sounds not very nice anyhow :( you'll be missed but feel free to come along and shout encouragement :)

theres the thing you can do where you sprint for about 10 seconds or so then when told to, turn and start walking back, then when told to again, you you turn and sprint until told again to turn and walk back... contd to fade....

I can't believe that anything is better than playing seven-a-side football for practising to win a seven-a-side football tournament and for getting fit.

I mean, if we were all training five days a week, or twice a week over a long period of time, it would be different, but we're not. I am surprised we are talking about doing fitness training together.

Anyway, I meant to come on here to find the RESPECT thread.
