Alternative Euro 2004: U75 Team Needed

anyone look at the kit, got any thoughts etc..?

You won't catch me wearing Nike even if they paid me to wear it.

I would suggest Urban75 T-shirts as it would help out the server fund and I'm sure Mike will still have some lying around.

Just a thought.

If I remember rightly, you're taller, but by no means fatter, than I!

:p

not content with competing for my position, now you're competing with me on the fatometer.. this title's mine boyo :p

the position in which i have been playing.. sorry, you are the proper player.

No, no, no. I don't mind going up front (or coming off the bench, Roon style) I was just taking the mick at how you called it your position...

Anyway, I'm definitely fatter.

Two groups of 5, with the top two from each progressing to the semi's.

so we're guaranteed 4 games, and a max of 6 - excellent. be a shame if it was knockout from the start. knowing that now we also know we all will have ample opportunity to play. The things aswell is it's gonna be well hot around the time of the tournament so it'll be tough.

Rollem, we need to find out ASAP what the rules are, so we can start working toward those time scales.

i have the rules, dont panic!

not gonna discuss tactics on here (the walls have ears and all that ;) ) but have some ideas that i think we should incorporate, which we can discuss tomorrow.

above all lets not take this too seriously guys!! yes, we want to do ok, no, we dont want to get knocked out early on, but its a friendly tournament, with a kids version running alongside. picnic atmoshpere (all bring some food on the day) and generally a bit of a giggle and an excuse to play football. this it not, i repeat this is not the REAL euro 2004.... ;)

oh and tony, i dont remember captaincy being decided..... :p

Some people are comparing this to the real Euro 2004...

I say that's wrong. Its far more important than that. :p

bet relhani is made captain

good points rollem, this is only a kickabout.. let's take it for what it is, and try and win it, but make sure our first priority is having a laugh.

maybe if it goes well we can look to finding a league or something for next season? then we can all take it far too seriously ;)

I required reassurance is all

I was putting my claim forward, showing initiative, again, is all gaffer.

we need 7 leaders on the pitch, 4 or 5 leaders on the sideline and we need direction from the management. :D the fans need to play their part too - and the tea ladies, well they have a role to play.

played pants last night, scored a few, but probably only put 30% of my chances away.. still, feeling fine today after legs giving up yesterday, so feeling confident about playing well on wednesday.

If nothing else.....I make great sandwiches, legendary even. I made 1000 sandwiches once for a wake and not one person complained. so i'll do the food for the team.... ahem...Captain Sandwich :p

I am taking it serious, seriously doubtful we stand a chance but what a laugh it's gonna be.

It's the same day as the England v France game which starts at 19:45 so that'll be perfect for a few scoops after our tournament...

I'll make us some lovely houmous, and other assorted dips, and maybe some nice chicken dishes.. add that to your pro sandwiches and at least we'll win the food cup.. ;)

My legs still ache. Is that normal?

If you exercise regularly no, unless you got a specific knock. If you haven't exercised (and line dancing doesn't really count) then yes it is.

hmm, not sure.. like i said, played last night, as did relahni, and we're both fine.. although my quads hurt at the time, feel fine today.. but I've been playing weekly, and bi-weekly for a while now.

I've got a foot injury which sometimes makes me limp, but its not serious enough to stop me tomorrow, once the adrenaline flows you don't notice these things! :)

It's not a specific knock as it hurts all over in places where I didn't know I could hurt.

I kinda like it, truth be told.

That sounds like after the first game of the season! (The gym can't exercise the muscles that football does). Nonetheless, it shouldn't still be going on four days later!

Oi ChrisFilter... that's my job. :p

And Tony1798 I'm impressed.. 1000 sandwiches at a wake and not 1 complaint.. I could not manage that. :)

Sarcastic Food

I'll be careful with this next statement: There would have been one complaint cos I used full fat mayo on the sandwiches which had mayo but the person who would have complained was sadly a little still in the coffin.
