Alternative Euro 2004: U75 Team Needed

There was also that thing ChrisF was on about on Monday - fuck knows what it's called - basically sprinting then walking etc. To get sharpness back. It's all good.
I think it's called interval training, jog for five mins then sprint for five mins, then run for five mins - its a killer.
We could also do that thing where two people in the middle have to win back the ball from the rest of the team in a circle outside.

See you all tonight - I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks on sunday though...

sorry, we'll train if everyone wants to.. I just find it easier to push myself when I'm playing than when I'm jogging about, you know?

It's called Faartleg.. not that i've done it mind.. but my mate says it's one of the best types of running.

I prefer sexy myself. ;)

Good luck all.

Tony1798 I can't tonight.. damn didn't even know it was on.

I can't believe that anything is better than playing seven-a-side football for practising to win a seven-a-side football tournament and for getting fit.

Agree 100%

I'm more with the playing side of things but will make sure I run a little bit harder when playing than usual.

Agreed with whoever said warm up - we've already lost the B - let's hope that we don't lose any more. Warming down is good too.

Wouldn't mind doing some shooting practice (if anyone wants to) but it's up to the majority I guess.

All this talk about tactics/fitness has made me tired.

Yeh, enough for one day.

I better get moving. My fiancee is already on her way and will be reading in REgents Park soon. I promised I'd not be later than 6.30.

I'm supposed to finish at 6pm but the boss has just left so I'll give him a few minutes to get out of the car park and then I'll be heading...

Damn, this is one of the few things that makes me wanna live in London!

Anyway, as I've prolly said before, I am in London on the weekend so can come out to play. I'm prepared to not be fully in the gaffer's thoughts at this stage as she's only seen me play once (and I limped out early 'cos I was decidedly not kitted out to play in fairly warm weather). A spot on the bench would be fine.

Despite my pretensions to being a striker (one goal and I think I'm bloody Rooney), defence is my domain really. Midfield confuses me.

Promise to turn out wherever you want me this weekend :)

I could play as keeper actually...don't think that'll bugger my foot too much (but what I will say about when I was briefly a semi-hobbling keeper from last time is - no one sits back properly in defense, let alone two of you)

Good run out.

I'm sorry if I was a bit aggressive at times. I find it very hard to 'turn off' when playing football, and I don't believe in going in half-heartedly. I didn't mean to try and injure anyone.

Bad news is that my foot really hurts. I'm not going to run or do anything until its healed, and if its not healed in a week I'm going to the docs, coz I have absolutely no idea what it is!

You mean you bring your issues onto the field of play !!! .. God almighty you're a wrong un and I'm turning up for the next training session.
The conference beckons ;) !

Last nights run out wasn't bad, we got game alright. It's just a case of playing more together. fyi B we had a warm up session, then a game of 2 touch keep ball with the emphasis not really being on scoring. then we had 2 games of 10 mins each half and mixed the players around so we got a chance to play with different players.

some good fotball - some shite football - some good movement - some shite movement.

all in all it wasn't bad, the few pints afterwards were glorious.

we are definitely taking shape, it's just fitness and familiarity.

from now on in also B, keeper of goal I am. I'm a feckin brilliant keeper, it's all that Gaelic football rory - you know yourself.... get in there boyo - o'er the bar, pull on it and all that...

anyway... gonna make a coffee and have myself a cigarette,

team so far.

:D That made me laugh. I think you did consult with Rollem so you probably won't get in trouble for this.

To be fair I think Relhani is a dead cert for CB. No-one is really challenging that.

I'd now vote for you as Captain (now I've played with you [and against you])!

I'll be lucky to get in the frigging side at this rate.. keep letting myself down.. Saturday morning, we'll play another team, and I'll play a blinder.. you just watch.

I'm not going to be playing for a while: NHS Direct are calling me back any minute and I've already booked tomorrow morning off for A&E/ Docs... my foot has swollen and I can't walk faster than a three year old.

Apparently, another member of staff here had something similar (where he'd done nothing to it) and it was an infection.

Hopefully you'll be better by the 13th flimsier, plenty of time yet.

Tony, imo, you're better outfield cos you can talk to and organise people and you get stuck in.

You can talk to and organise people in goal as well.

I agree about the getting stuck in bit but we don't have 400 good keepers available to choose from.

We're a bit like England really.

I did lay claim to the gloves a while back, although I don't mind standing aside if you can get someone who can actually train with you.

Failing that, there's always my suggestion of a traffic cone wearing a hat.
