Nala Sinephro - Endlessness ...Warp Records
21ST century alice coltrane right here ... caught me in the right mood (knackered) but this is properly groundbreaking music .... Cant think the last time I heard something and thought that... and its deep and beautiful to boot...and probably already posted on the thread :D

Finally got round to this and I'm glad I did, it's gorgeous.

Oh my fucking lord. Theres a new The The album, Ensoulment, coming out in September. The first one this century. It has been pre-ordered.

Had a listen of this. Music is OK but the lyrics are an undifferentiated landslide of 'wake up sheeple' conspiraloon shite.

Johnson's voice sounds great though. Just a pity he can't be arsed to write anything worth singing.

Just listened to the new Messthetics album - it's fucking great.

Previously a trio - Brendan Canty and Joe Lally - the rhythm section from Fugazi, with Anthony Pirog shredding on guitar but for the new album they've added a sax player and although the previous stuff was a bit jazz they've hit the jazz vibes way harder this time.

Check this banger:

Messthetics have just announced a gig in Lewes where I live - what the fuck! - nobody ever plays in Lewes!

Been really falling for the Sealionwoman album this week.
Tags = experimental alternative doom double bass drone experimental folk

Another one i missed from earlier in year: Tierra Whack "WORLD WIDE WHACK". This is an incredible album, will def be in my top 3 of this year... it is v minimal rnb adjacent, and people often compare her to missy elliot, but there is a lot unique about it, she has an incredible voice that can sound many different ways, and same with her personality, so it is complex to work out... but it just sounds like awesome rnb pop too. And the lyrics are just... i dunno, a combination of naive, intellectual, cynical, innocent, again like nothing ive heard so i cant reference them. Not sure why it isnt huge news.

(All her videos are AMAZING to watch too, maybe start there... her 1st album was 15 x 1 minute songs with 15 1 minute videos.)

Just been made aware of this album that came out on Goldies Metalheadz label...its breakbeat rather than DnB, and steeped in the classic dark Metalheadz soundscape....crispest beats and lots of dark strings

its 29 tracks long though! Its really great I think but Id either cut 9 tracks or consider it three albums
Artists name is SB81 , albums called B292 (presumably back to 92 - lots of little nods to old breaks and samples, but definitely not an oldskool record this)

i had a look and couldnt find a single review - totally under the radar
doesnt seem right as its a lot better than most electronic records out there - very talented technical producer

Part 1

Part 2

Can't believe I missed this from Charlotte Day Wilson, it's slinky-gorgeous and would certainly have featured in my end of year list.
