A thank you to Brexiteers.

Yeah that’s why I was asking for an actual thing, like one aspect of the divorce agreement or the price of fish or anything at all that he thinks would have been different if it wasn’t for those pesky remainers.
Brexiteers don't deal with anything tangible, so I suspect you'll be waiting a while for a meaningful response.

It's mainly about nebulous nonsense such as sovereignty and taking back control...

It's not my fault you want Ireland within a corrupt organisation such as the EU.

If it's all about trade between the North and the South, it's easy, just come out of the EU. It seems Ireland likes to follow the lead of other countries anyway. A sad state of affairs. Personally, I think it's because all of the independent minded, get up and go critical thinkers, have already left Ireland, leaving behind those who can't think for themselves.

Perhaps I should help you all out by taking advantage of my Irish heritage, moving over there, becoming an Irish citizen?

I'd do a good job of helping you all out with your problems.
Nah, we've had enough "help" from the know it alls, thanks.

Why should Ireland follow your lead?

‘Ours’ includes Northern Ireland doesn’t it? As in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Which part of the dog do you see Northern Ireland as?
If the rest of the UK is expected to put it's interests after Northern Ireland's than that would ALSO be an example of the tail wagging the dog.

It's a metaphor used to describe a situation more than anything else.

Of course we should look after the interests of Northern Ireland, but in alignment of our own itnerests, not Ireland's.

Both the EU and Ireland can't keep throwing the "You guys decided to leave the EU, you sort it." line at us. The problem is really the EU itself, because it's a protectionalist trading block.

Wtf is protectionalist? And how does it differ from protectionist?

Can you give an example of one thing that you think would be different now - or would have been different in the agreement - if it wasn’t for these remain MPs undermining things?
One example of what you’re talking about.
If it were down to me, I would have made a big deal about the fact there is almost the double the amount of EU citizens here in the UK compared to UK in the EU.

I would have offered absolutely no visas for EU citizens at all. None. All to pack up and leave come Brexit day.

Absurd? Yep. Outragous? Yep. But I want zero tariffs in return for EU citiizens to stay.

UK citizens in the EU? Don't care. They've got money, they can bring it back and boost our own economy. The EU wouldn't have kicked them out. Too useful.

Disgaree? Oh yeah of course you do. You would have kicked off big time, if TM or BJ went down that route.

But that's why you're a liability.

We could have gotten a free trade agreement out of them. I'm sure of that.

Mate I wouldn’t trust you to negotiate ordering a big Mac. This is just completely fuck witted... I’m surprise The ERG haven’t hired you as a consultant.

Services as well then. Sorry I'm tired, my shift was from 13:00 until 22:30.

Anyway, my point is that we could have got a fuck load more out of them. It was a bonkers situation when we told them that over 3 million citizens in the UK could stay, when they wouldn't do the same in kind with our citizens in the EU.

We always had rough figures for how many EU citizens worked here compared to UK in the EU, same with retirees etc.

And all of the leverage was chucked out the window way before the negotiators sat down to negotiate.

Whar are you talking about? British citizens who were already resident in the EU are allowed to stay.

If we kicked out all EU citizens our health service would be even more fucked, not to mention hospitality and many other buinesses.

I wouldn't have to, the EU would have caved in.
Caved in? Article 50 was ticking down, despite extensions, which Teresa May utilised, it was Johnson who let the clock run down and that was despite COVID on the horizon and the EU willing to extend further.

The UK were always on the back foot and Johnson wanting to look tough "got Brexit done" and refused the offer of an extension. Only he didn't get it done and Brexit is still dragging on...

I guess we're lucky that even the Tories weren't sociopathic enough to use the threat of deporting millions of people as a starting point for negotiations
