Your daily cat and kitten news

There's nothing going on making a noise or a mess or a smell or generally being naughty and that in itself feels wrong.
(Although N might rectify that when he wakes up from his nap).
Rather like with a cat I think it's best to assume he has made a mess somewhere you just haven't found it yet.

Like when we discovered our cat had been using our upstairs guest room as a toilet.

For months. The carpet did not survive.

I'm assuming future archaeologists will absolutely treasure your flats stratification.

Don't - I've just sorted out a massive laundry pile, it's too close to home right now 😳

I could tell how long N had left it there because there were strata with different types of N work clothes in it.

(And no I am not going to do his laundry, he has 10 billion clothes and he is supposed to launder them himself).

Why do gangsters check their pockets

So they don't get caught laundering money.

Took Bestie for his annual check up today.

6.5kg  he’s not fat, just a big cat, solid neck, strong shoulders/back and he’s 13 years old. Biggest cat I’ve ever known.

Ti is 14 and frail in comparison.

<e2a> big for a domestic short haired moggy. My mate has a Maine Coon and they’re off the scale.
I’ve always wanted a cat to fit my arm span 🙂. I love the idea of a Norwegian Forest Cat too - beautiful.

about on a par with black cat who lived with my (long time ago now) ex - moggy was 14 lbs which is 6 and a bit Kg and solid, he did put on weight and ended up at 16 lbs of mog.

this was the one i've mentioned who would start fights with dogs...

Jakey was over 6kg when we first got him - that was a little on the "chonk" side of the weight chart for his frame, I think he was spoiled a bit before he came to live with us.
I'm a little bit strict about extras and treats, but he was a very greedy cat and could easily bolt down his grub then bully another cat away from their bowl and eat theirs too!
I think I mentioned before that I had to feed him in a dog crate for a while so the others could eat in peace at their own pace and get all their food!
He settled down to a healthier 5.5kg for most of his life, until he became elderly and a bit unwell - it's somewhat normal given his conditions for them to end up very skinny.

There's such a wide variation in terms of cat sizes that there's no one size fits all in terms of weight, it's much more about shape and fitness.

Yeah, I sometimes worry Lilith might be underweight but the vet assures me her weight is perfectly healthy, she's just a petite female! I think she'll always appear kittenlike.

the average 'pet' cat is probably slightly overweight, but yes - the size of domestic cats (especially female) is variable.

of my two neighbour cats, one is a fairly solid chonky tabby, the black and white one is in her mid teens but some people assume she's a kitten. (although the local dogs know she's not a kitten in temprament...)
