Your daily cat and kitten news

We have kittens!
Names may yet change when their personalities start to be shown to us (they are hiding in their carriers at the moment), haven't decided yet.

Anakin is a 7.5 month old Chocolate Point Siamese.

Atlantis is a 6 month old... He looks like a Siamese but is a bicolour which is not officially called a Siamese, so technically he is a Blue Tabby Point Bicolour Oriental Shorthair. Some registries call this flavour of the Siam/OSH family a Seychellois, but this is purely a registration thing, they are all essentially the same breed.

We won't know until his coat darkens (Colourpoints are born an off-white colour and darken with age and ambient temperature of their environment).what his tabby pattern is (probably ticked tabby) or how much white he has on him.

Trust me to get a cat with a description which begs half a page of explanation

They are both neutered boys.

Will post photos when they emerge from their carriers and start to explore!

Sad still at the fact the previous era ended 😢 but also happy to usher in a new feline era in House Epona

Looking forward to meeting them! They are a pair of lucky boys.

Twisted the top off the Felpreva, got it in position and he realised what was going on and jumped off goddammit. Does it keep ok with just the top on it? He's stashed in his igloo again.

I hope they decide to at least head under the bed soon, judging by the heady aroma one of them needed to do a big shit halfway home (2 hour car journey) and I need to do a clean up.

I hope we're not going to wake up in the morning to poo pawprints all over our bedding 🤣

Anakin had cuddles with us both when we went to meet him... All her older cats were all over us, the kittens a little hesitant, but Anakin soon found himself half on my lap and half on N's.

Atlantis spent a lot of our visit under the sofa, a little shyer but he wasn't scared and didn't leave the room, he was quietly observing us to see what we were like. He popped out to shyly come and sniff us after about an hour.

He is currently under our chest of drawers watching us like a hawk. We are deliberately mostly ignoring him. Anakin is still in his carrier. He's the one that was adopted and returned once already, so is probably and justifiably feeling a tad confused and not as confident as he was when we met him earlier

Awww, poor Anakin! That must have been traumatic for him. He'll soon feel at home with you and N, though.

Tempt him out with some dreamies or waffer thin ham. Only joking. :) When we moved house when I was a youngster our cat hid behind the couch for a day. Was fine soon enough.

from today's visit to brixton - popeye the bookmongers shop kitty wasn't in his usual place in the front window, or visible in the shop (although there were signs he was still around) so i asked after him.

the chap opened the door behind the counter so i could say hello - he has now got a heated pad thing on the floor behind the counter, so he wasn't going anywhere else today (i got a brief look, then he went back to sleep.)

his latest instagram post
