Your daily cat and kitten news

Went to get my hair cut and THERE WAS A KITTEN

He climbed up my leg and prowled around inside the cape hunting my hands for a bit, then fell asleep in a boneless puddle in the crook of my arm.

(Doing alt text for each image is a nightmare on my phone but it's just lots of pictures of a tiny black and white kitten being ridiculously cute)

looks like someone got him whiskers a few sizes too big so he can grow in to them...

If today is that sort of a day and you need some London cat pictures, this article is doing the rounds again.

We've established that my boy doesn't do laps, despite my coaxing to at least try it. However he does do lying against me as I read in bed, head pack, front paws in the sky and back legs spread letting his furry manhood have complete freedom. All that's expected of me is to apply a single hand continuously to the extremely fluffy tummy, and he'll keep his engine purring.

Lilith often sits on my shoulder when I'm reading a book. So I figured I might as well read out loud to her. And unlike with most recipients of bedtime stories, I don't need to worry about whether or not it's age appropriate!

Does anyone else think their cat gets blue this time of the year?

This is Cat’s third winter and he has become less perky and more…. well, sensitive and blue, as he seems to around this time every year.

He can’t settle, seems bored but nothing takes his interest or his fancy. A bit mopey and droopy.

It’s rather worse this year because of Not-stray: he keeps checking for her over his shoulder and leaving if she’s anywhere around.

I really need to pull my finger out about finding her a better home. I think she’d be happier too. She really loves a warm lap and I’m not providing it to her spec.

It has really highlighted how very well suited Cat and I are in our sensibilities and proclivities. He’s been very patient and tolerant so far but I do need to restore the old status quo.

She's happy in there as it's a safe haven from Donut. He doesn't get sad when the weather changes, but he is an absolute dickhead whenever it rains, constantly attacking her out of boredom

Only difference I've noticed here so far is they wait under the kitchen rather than meowing out on the step when the weather's especially bad, so everything gets covered in rainy muddy cobwebs when I let them in. And I'm going to have to remove the glove-friendly chunky plastic zip toggles from the fleece hoodie I wear most mornings now, because Canelle keeps climbing up my chest and trying to hunt and eat them while I'm sat drinking coffee first thing.
