Will I be one of the first to be assessed by maximus?

Hi

This has been bothering me all day, so I thought I would post about it.
I am on ESA support group till June 2015
I heard on benefitsandwork forum that they send you an ESA50 a few months before you are due to be assessed.
I was sorta banking on my reassessment being delayed, but I read a few days ago that Maximus are taking over in March 2015 and the whole thing has got me so depressed that I never got up yesterday and today, can't bring myself to do anything and dying to go back to bed.
I don't wanna be one of the first people to be assessed by this monster company.

Being taken off ESA would set of a chain of events that I won't go into on this thread but maybe another.
I just can't wait to go back in bed again.
I never got up at all yesterday, except to get wees and drinks and to give a frieind some baccy who called round.

Well, first, please take a deep breath. Then another.

As others have said, we don't know who will be assessed and how they will select who goes first. Remember there is a massive backlog of people still waiting to be seen after their first ESA50 form, let alone repeat forms. Your repeat appointment may well be delayed. Nobody knows yet.

It is incredibly unlikely that you will be called for assessment in March next year. So please try to calm down and remember when you get the form we will help you on the ATOS support thread (even if it isn't ATOS anymore).

I know it's hard, but as Greebo says save your energy for worrying about the things you can change, not the things you can't.

Panpete you're absolutely not alone in this - there are others who'd willingly take a pill or use another method to kill themselves if they thought that it would make this shit go away. But it won't. Die now and your death just reduces the pile of paperwork for the DWP and ATOS or their successor.

What each of us can do is outlast the bastards enabling this system, and live long enough to take it to bits, and then stop it happening again.

Edited to add: FWIW If I thought for one second that just taking a pill (or several) would make all of this shit stop, and not make life easier for the bureaucrats, I'd have already done it.

It's just that no one has the answer for you. None of us know how it will actually pan out in general, let alone for you personally.

I guess I just think that your sitting tying yourself into knots, which I am too, But I promise if there is anything that we know that will help you in any way, we will tell you.

Sorry you are tying yourself in knots, i think there are loads of us up and down the country who are worrying ourselves sick.
One friend of mine is on JSA and is forced to do loads of shit, he said that when he goes to the JC he threw up with nerves beforehand, that's how the system has got us.
I wish I could find an income somehow so I would not be reliant on benefits.
Some people attract money and some leak it, i leak it.
I think maybe the people who leak money dont believe in themselves, so maybe I have to find a way to value myself more.

I do pretty much know how that feels. You're on ESA till June 2015. Can you try - and I don't know how successful you will be - to tell yourself you are not going to worry about this until, say, April?

Or even just until next week? Or till tomorrow (sort of Scarlett O'Hara style)?

I was due to be reassessed in February, so I only just luckily got caught in the ATOS delay thing.
