What I'm not in favour of is thi sforum being used a marketing tool. The Hunger's post, whilst pleasant and informative was unadulterated marketing
I'm all for having more local businesses speaking up for themselves. These guys are obviously passionate about the food, which is no bad thing - they can spare the lectures mind.
Yes let's not start the Brixton banana wars - there are more important things to get het up about.
what's that supposed to mean, that their produce is blessed by god or something?
Focused enough to draw attention to their products and future products.Really surprised you saw it that way, it was a bit of shit marketing message then. Far too rambling and without enough focus.
Because someone else noted the unsolicited advertising and I happen to agree.I don't understand why something you've conceded was 'pleasant and informative' has been brought up as an issue days after the event.
This.
Their customers are still yuppie tossers though.
It's honestly as close to wide a selection as can fit in the fridges and it honestly couldn't be cheaper whilst affording to keep it in those fridges. Bigger stock on Fridays and Saturdays. Could potentially stock a little bit me if more sells more..Some people seem to think that because it's a nice clean shop that it's a big rip off, it's really not, it's a new small business trying to provide a decent selection of fresh organic food from known small producers, it's not Eostre Organics but it's miles better than Tesco and with some support it might survive. A lot of people can't afford organic food, but a lot of other people can but don't consider it a priority. Through knowledge or otherwise. For me it's a fundamental just in terms of taking responsibility for the consequences of my actions. Sorry for the breathlessness. Is a link better?

Broad beans? Where?
Oi! That's me and choc you're talking about.
In their defence their (small) cabbages are only £1.70, not the £7 figure made up by some posters here. Not cheap, but not extortionate imaginary prices either.
Is you user name some sort of diminutive af Tarquin, Tars old man?
I know is aint yer real name, but I was wondering if maybe it was an aspirational thing ?????
Yeah claiming £7 was a bit harsh, but humour often relies on exaggeration......
Still, £1.70 eh?.......
funnily enough i think i saw that they had red cabbage!!
but... (psst- the organic lettuce is better value in the fabulous jamaican organic shop -esme- just around the corner, pssst)
I went in about a week ago. I was with a mate. We were both prepared to splash a bit of cash on lots of lovely goodies.
But...
They need to get their queueing system sorted out, or summat. By the time they'd served about the fifth braying Claphamite who just pushed in , and ignored us when we'd pointed out that it was actually our turn , we decided to leave. Without buying anything, obv.
I'm afraid I'd much rather go to Spoon on New Park Road and give my money to the lovely Nell.
Spoon is cool, but I work there so I would think that.
Does your name begin with P?
yep.
coolAh, I know who you are! Next time I see you in Spoon I shall pop in and say hello
Well, that ain't terrible. But at the end of the day it's a simple pasta, sauce and cottage cheese dish. But if I annouced to my guests as not just a meal, but artisan bespoke organic Wild Caper meal solution I think they'd have a right to fall around laughing, pointing and calling me a ponce.
