But what if you're having a crap?

Radio 4

I don't buy any papers. Well, the Brecon and Radnor Express, Abergavenny Chronicle or Western Mail very occasionally. And the Observer once in a blue moon.

Guardian/Observer @ the weekend

Nothing during the week, just read the news online/radio/telly

Well reciting the Communist Manifesto while having a shit is usually the first step to becoming an SWP full timer, so keep up the good work.....

the tottenham journal, and the guardian on saturday for the guide, that's it.

Then why did you select all the options?

I was wondering: rednblack must spend a fortune on newspapers!!!

South London Press. I usually buy both editions (tuesdays and fridays). I rarely buy a Sunday paper, and it varies as to which one but never the News of the Screws as I've been boycotting it for nearly 30 years. If I buy a daily newspaper it'll be the grauniad, like as not, because I like their quick crossword and Steve Bell.

How anyone not read the newspapers? People like that are a waste of education funding.

Err, because they're full of ill-considered, poorly informed, badly written, depressing crap that takes far too much for granted?

Local paper several times a week, Independent occasionally, Morning Star occasionally, Guardian online. Oh and Mrs G sometimes buys the Hatey Mail or the Excess so sneak a peak at those occasionally too.

Succinctly put, plus of course there is very little news in them.

Guardian, Observer on Sundays (even though the later is considerably more shite than its sister paper ...)

Sometimes the Southwark News for local stuff, or the South London Press.

I'll look at ANY other paper that catches my eye, in the shop/on the tube/left lying around at work.

I bin pick what I can on the underground on the way to work.
Ex sometimes buys me the Grauniad as a present thought I've tried to get him to get me the Independent instead.

at uni i buy the indie cos its only 20p from the shop round the corner. back home i buy to mirror.

i do tend to read most of my news online tho, then when i buy a paper i find most of the stories ive already read...

I find the Independent a lot duller (style of writing wise) than the Guardian, even though it often runs more left wing articles and even campaigns.

The Economist (most people would call it a magasine but they do refer to themslves as a newspaper).

Apart from that I go online and use Google News which links to newspaper and website stories from all round the world - so its a "lucky dip".

Get all my news off t'internet, usually google, sometimes by the Indie tho.

and there's my wankbag of a student paper but that's free.

Yeah mate, but what do you want a paper or a whinging hippy rag thats always going on about some liberal campaign or another? The indy gets on my nerves.

Shit i forgot you were a hippy. No offence :( Hippies are... fine... i just don't like the paper. Which i think we agree on.

I only get the Record when they are running some bullshit series about Glasgow's celebrity gangsters.
Just for a giggle like.
Other than that the sun when a sports headline tweaks my interest. Very rarely happens.
If I was going to go into a shop to specifically to by a paper it would be the Glasgow Herald.

I only ever read online news nowadays.

Well apart from the Metro which is a great wee read.

The Mail and the Telegraph. Because they're the only ones that no-one's nicked from the pub when I go for me after work pint (or three). And they're good for a laugh. We normally have a sweepstake on the Mail: put in a quid and choose a page. Closest to the illegal immigrants takes the pot. Sometimes we play the same game with drug addicts or single mothers. :D
