What's the most unusual way you could get to work?

Got some pogo stilts, but probably not fit enough to do 5miles to work on them these days :hmm:

Yeah...I got that wake up call yesterday.
Have you ever thought you were fitter than you are and done something which should be easy only to suddenly realise you're in trouble with it?
I was "demonstrating" (Lol) walking on a bench and jumping off the end on to a mat. Nothing complicated in that. Short bench. And only 10 inches off the ground.
So I jumped and landed on both feet as you do only to find that my legs completely gave way and I was suddenly on my knees and hurtling forward. Cue giggles and me saying "now that's how not to do it " :D
But at the same time it has freaked me out a bit.

I run to work a couple of times a week. Takes a hour door to door; I usually cycle and that takes 35 mins or so.

Not that unusual a method overall I guess, but as a city commute I'm definitely a minority. I did follow one other guy from Blackfriars all the way to Clapham this week though.

I could paddle board to work if I wanted, but I drop BB2 off at school so it doesn't work. Plus I don't want to do it even if I wasn't swinging past the school, cos I suspect it would be a pain.

for 'most unusual' i suppose i could construct some sort of steam powered submarine and go via the loddon, thames and wandle, but not sure it would be entirely practical...

:p

I dunno, hopping? I could swim but it would be an indirect route and mostly rat piss.
I hopped to work a couple of times when living & working in King's Cross. It was when I was still pissed & only took half a fag to get there. God them were the days. I could get from my local to my bed in less than 100 steps (& a good third were) & Bed to work in about 200 without having to cross a road.

Back home if I was early enough would get the ferry to work, though it was easier and quicker going by bus down Military Road then over the bridge, but going home not so rushed so get the ferry back then walk.

But on a bad day the ferry ride could get exciting!!!

I generally do a skateboard / longboard, train and skateboard again. I didnt think it was unusual, but judging by this thread and the reaction of my peers maybe it is. I just can't be arsed getting the tube so I am usually going to the nearest station . .(London bridge, Victoria, Clapham junction, kings cross, blackfriars, Waterloo etc) and skate from there. It can be a 40 minute walk in some cases if you exclude the tube. If I'm working somewhere with a shower I will probably run instead. There are loads of fairly nice routes and you get to see and experience a bit more of London. God I hate the tube.
