What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I made a pumpkin and chick pea stew with lots of smoked paprika and had it with quinoa.

I'm experimenting with cooking quinoa as it seems like a good rice cooker option. Slightly funny taste though. I don't remember it being that strong when I've had it made by other people.

Last night I did a chicken and chorizo 'paella' in the slow cooker.
Chicken, chorizo, chopped toms, stock, spices etc. in for 3 hours, then rice, orange pepper and frozen peas in for another hour.
Totally inauthentic, but pretty tasty
That sounds lush!
I tend to say I'm having a paella-inspired dish too because a lot of the time it's "with adjustments" and I fear causing an international incident if I try to claim it as the real thing :D
I love all those varieties of one pan "with rice" dishes from various parts of the world though, I think a lot of them probably have similar culinary roots :)

Probably the bolognese from the freezer that we didn't eat yesterday. Ended up staying at my parents house all night - we cleared the garage out and discovered our water meter was pissing water out, Yorkshire Water sent a plumber out. in the evening.

Liked for bolognese which is one of my favourites, not for last night's water leak drama

Frozen pizza, spicy chicken thing in a wrap, cornetto.

I have to start actually cooking things again this is getting ridiculous.

Also now found the air frier in a state two days in a row. Idk wtf it can get that bad in 24 hours.

Soy sauce chicken - boil a whole chicken (ideally, like this one, an organic chicken for £3 from the haggle shelf  ) for 30 minutes in lots of soy/garlic/ginger/5 spice/stock then put it in the oven to go golden brown. Son made an amazing home made hoi sin sauce and egg fried rice to go with it plus broccoli/peas/edemame beans. Lovely!

Last night we got a takeaway curry!
Chicken Bhuna for me
Veg Vindaloo for N
Sag Aloo
Mushroom Rice
Onion Bhajis
Veg Samosas
A peshwari naan to share (not my favourite, it always feels a bit like dessert!)

Tonight I am making pasta alla Norma as we have the rare event of an aubergine being in the house, they were on special in Lidl and I am going to make ratatouille with the rest of it.
Garlic bread.
I've also got a small bit of chicken bhuna left which I'll have on the side.
