What you been doing for the last two hours? (pt4)

I went to the job centre at 12.30 to find out they had changed my appointment to 2.30.

This meant I had 2 hours to kill in a shithole town.

I sat in a wetherspoons where everybody looks like Mario & Lisa from Big Brother, at different ages of their lives, and shitter, getting pissed in the afternoon.

Then I went to the job centre to find that I had already applied for everything and that there were no more jobs.

Then I went for a KFC, which I ate at a bus stop.

More and more often do I have this thought: "has my life come to this?"

Sounds like a 100% shite day that mate

What happened to getting out in the world?

Got up at about half five and put a pot of coffee on. Did some laundry and cleared up after my son and his mates, sorted out the recycling, made a bacon sarnie for Blind Lemon, went into the garden to kill* some snails that are eying up my redcurrants and clematis. I feel knackered already and it's not even half eight!

*crushed mercilessly underfoot, the organic, quick way.

I have been to my youngest's leavers assembly. Feel a bit sad cos I've been going up to that school for 13 years!

Probably take him back there out of sheer habit in September.

Playing with my kitten and doing a bit of cleaning.

I'd forgotten the joys of waking up to your toes being attacked  :D

Bored bored bored bored fucking bored bored

made some calls, boring calls, really fucking boring calls.

dad rang - to ask me to check prices for dental implants for my mother, on the internet. fuck OFF. you have internet - use it, like fuck am I looking for anything for that old bag o shite

Did some washing up, divved about online, went and got my son from his cot, put him on the floor and...watched him start crawling forwards  :D  This is a momentous day, he has been going backwards for weeks. Clearly the sight of me eating a piece of toast was temptation enough.

cleaning house, chatting to my best friend over skype, planning hen night  although it may have to be post wedding due to everyones holidays, babysitters etc, and eating a chocolate spread and marmite toastie

Babysitting the cutest little kid in the world, walking home in the sunrain after finishing babysitting the cutest little kid in the world, getting text message of love from someone i thought i'd lost, arriving home to neighbours beating each other to a pulp playing loud music in my ear but ignoring it since my day's been unusually great after ten years of crap i deserve to be happy fuck them bah!,
leafing through photo album wondering where time went but deciding not to be bitter anymore and feeling grateful for happiness and new possibilities, preparing a spliff with window open listening to birdsong outside and children playing, wrapping myself in a soft plushy blanket thingy with a cup of tea and aforementioned spliff, looking forward to the future, listening tomusic, chilling... trying not to expect things as usual to go wrong (banish that thought, forbid that thought!)
Feeling happy to be alive despite the odds, really... :)

Having a good ole natter with my lass, about her burgeoning photography career, life, films, self portraits, elitism, interpretation, technical stuff about film/lighting/studios :D *whoosh*

trying to watch tv then trying to sleep, but being hampered by the sounds coming through from our house mates bedroom , who is currently entertaining his boss

I have been sitting here at work trying to think of something useful to do. I am a little hung over, which doesn’t help matters. Maybe I go have another cup of tea, that would be the fourth today.

^^ hope the narrowboats are improving your day.

me: getting my name changed, properly, formally, legally and all that.
and being about to go for a celebratory half.
it was on my list of things to do before i get old :hmm:

shopping with madge for new trainers (for her), nappies for baby, and collecting things from the post office depot.

she was so good / helpful that we celebrated getting it all done with a packet of pom-bears

Trying not to fart at work (Guinness). Co-workers have been warned.

Groaning with hangover.

Trying to work out if I live in a conservation area. Haringey Council's website is SHIT!

feeling a bit ropey, wrapping some presents, finishing sewing bunting and a good luck banner. fretting about party at work tonight becasue i am already feeling emotional, and 3 of my fav residents who i've worked with for 5 years are moving to new homes, i know i'm going to end up sobbing

Playing with the kitten, finding quite an efficient way to make coffee, trying to reduce the amount of stuff in my flat

I've got surplus shite down to three shelves in a cupboard, but want it to be NO shelves in the cupboard. How do minimalists do it? :(
