What stupid shit has Trump done today?

After the Comey memo, John McCain says Trump's scandals are "reaching Watergate size" - Trump might still pull through, but obviously not a good sign when a senator from your own party is saying that four months into your presidency.

McCain: Trump scandals reaching 'Watergate size and scale'

Trump's not even trying to defend himself from this one on Twitter yet, he's just posting photos of how American cheese is made.

If Trump was forced out through popular protest then that would be good, if he was forced out through some combination of liberals, still very right-wing Republicans and the intelligence services then that would lead to a scenario that was even more dangerous than the Trump presidency.

Although probably President Pence could be an easier opponent electorally if the Democrats are smart, which they aren't.

Twaddle. Forced out by enough marches and placards do you mean but not liberal ones?

In The New Yorker IF DONALD TRUMP WERE A C.E.O., HE’D PROBABLY BE FIRED TODAY

It's Trump's uncontrollable big mouth that is dragging his Presidency down. He must aggressively defend his fragile ego even if it tramples his staff as they attempt to shield him. Ah but you can't just sack a dangerously, bumbling President. This isn't a concern as modern as the Saudi monarchy where such critters tend to be shuffled aside. The democracy fearing Founders back in the 18th century arranged the Republic's balance of powers to hamper bold government but no real off switch for a POTUS. It was assumed a narrow franchise of right thinking gentlemen would never elect an unbalanced twerp. It's unlikely Trump'll be impeached out of office. The voters may reject him during his second run but that's by no means a given. The squabbling Dems may fuck up again. Even if basically the dysfunctional child-man he appears to be he'll remain the most powerful man on the planet for up to eight years.

How could he be forced out through popular protest, especially if that protest didn't involve liberals? If he was forced out through any means except a military coup, it would be excellent.

There's a March for Truth on June 3rd (I think) - it started as a thing demanding "full investigation" (or words to that effect) of inteference in 2016 election. I think it was quite a small thing to begin with but is now due to take place in many cities.

On Bloomberg Gold Rallies as Trump’s ‘Toughest Time in Office’ Batters Dollar
...
The president “perhaps is facing his toughest time in the office,” said Naeem Aslam, chief market analyst in London at Think Markets U.K. Ltd. Investors are questioning whether there is “any possibility of impeachment becoming a reality, because certainly that would hit the confidence massively.”

Bullion for immediate delivery climbed as much as 0.6 percent to $1,245.07 an ounce, the highest since May 3, and was at $1,243.78 at 9:41 a.m. in London, according to Bloomberg generic pricing, as the Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index sank to the lowest since November. The precious metal’s winning run is the longest such stretch in a month, and takes gains this year to 8.4 percent.

Gold bugs get the fear.

Chill :D It's unravelling at it's own pace, let it play out. (Although purely for entertainment purposes I'm looking forward to the Saudi, Israel, Vatican, G7 and NATO trip the bouffant buffoon has later this month). What could possibly go wrong there!
One thing that could go wrong is the Saudis have invited Omar Bashir the genocidal president of Sudan to the summit that Trump is attending and Trump describes him as a 'fantastic guy'. Mind you, Sudanese troops have been involved on the coalition side of the Yemen conflict and Obama could have bought pressure to bear on the Saudis with that one and did nothing. Realpolitik.

Plus Trump is going to give a speech on Islam! Is Bannon - publisher of Breitbart - going to write it? What on earth is he going to say? It's hard to see him giving a speech that is at all consistent with what he's told his supporters back home about Islam. If he delivers some sort of lecture it's going to look appalling... He's bound to mispronounce everything - he got Erdogan's name wrong all the way through their press conference...

Actually, everything could go wrong...!

He's off to Israel, whose secrets he just gave to the Russians, and where his advance party have reportedly already got into a furious row over the Western Wall and protocol. Then again, Kushner's family is very close with Netenyahu so perhaps that can all be smoothed over...?

I can't see any problems with the Pope, though Trump's named Callista Gingrich, who had a six-year adulterous affair with her now husband, as his ambassador to the Vatican. And, it seems pretty plain that if they speak together the Pope is going to contradict pretty much everything Trump stands for. Bannon's a big Catholic I believe. One of the main sources for his worldview is a recording of him giving an address to a meeting actually inside the Vatican (I think he delivered it over the web, he wasn't there in person). It's where a lot of reporting about his views on a war with Islam and his pro-Russian "traditionalist" views come from, I believe. (I think it's on Buzzfeed if you want to track it down.)

Reportedly, he's taking his entire crew - Bannon, Preibus, Spicer - with him, like some big family outing. Also reportedly, they're already divided into bitterly opposed factions, who are now going to be put in a tiny, high-pressure, high-profile box very much out of their comfort zone. Has Trump ever travelled much? He comes to Scotland for golfing reasons, but other than that... and at any given opportunity he retreats to his own golf courses and clubs even in America - how's he going to cope with Saudi Arabia and Israel?

Trump: You are a member of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor.

Pope Francis: Bite my shiny Papal ass.

Don't worry, Jared's going! I'll be surprised if there isn't an Israeli-Palestinian deal signing within an hour of them touching down!

"That brings us to the final reason why this trip is quite possibly the most ill-conceived misadventure in the history of American diplomacy. Trump, McMaster told us this morning, will give a speech in Saudi Arabia about Islam and religious tolerance.

"It is virtually unfathomable that Trump, whose first months in office have been dominated by his (disguised) effort to keep Muslims out of the United States, could give a speech anywhere in the Muslim world on Islam and have it be well-received. Trump, after all, once told the Christian Broadcasting Network that the Koran teaches “a very negative vibe.”

"It’s hard to imagine Trump exercising sufficient self-control to emerge from an eight-day trip overseas without incident. He can barely go 24 hours without incident under normal circumstances. The best way to prevent more Trump damage is to keep him home."

Yoiks!
