What shoes do you wear in summer & are they comfy?

I wear converse pretty much constantly. White canvas day to day and pale pink nubuck for best. I’ve just bought some birkenstocks which are still a bit rubby but are getting better. I’ve also got 3 or 4 pairs of havaiana flip flops but my feet are awful at the moment and I can’t drive in them so don’t wear them much.
I bought a pair of fly sandals a couple of years ago because my mate said they were really comfy but they’re instruments of fucking torture.

I used to love them too. I have a lovely old pair of "trainers" from the made in Morocco days. I have worn the soles flat, but the leather is in fantastic condition. They are made in Vietnam now. The new pair I got for xmas a couple of years ago are rubbish, frankly. I assume they were bought out by private equity.
That's a pity. I still have about three pairs but two pairs are well over a decade old and the other pair isn't far off. Maybe that's why I haven't bought any for a long time, they just don't seem the same. Now I know it's because they're not the same :(

Just remembered I have some fab camper boots that I bought on an Urban 75 weekend in Benidorm, that also was over a decade ago :D

Are the Green ones Fly? I bought a pair once with the same sort of heal and I couldn't wear them, really couldn't walk in them. I know lots of people like them though.
Yes - they're Fly. I find them quite easy to walk in, but the sizing's a 'mare. Even different colours in the same style can vary.

This thread is hopeless for me. That's what I get for being a member of a UK based board. You can basically wear normal shoes in the summer. Here it's usually 35- 40 degrees in the summer with 80% or more humidity so no way of wearing closed shoes.
How about these? Theres low and high wedges as well. I was recommended them recently but I get my toes out so tkmaxxed some Birkenstocks instead. Womens

Saltwater sandles and Havaiana flip flops are my main summer choices.
I have some Trigenic Clarks shoes which are really comfy which look good with dresses. I have them in yellow, blue and pink/red.

I also have these, but walking in them takes some practice, initially :D

I love these. Have been tempted for ages but I'm used to wearing not hard to walk in shoes. How long does it take? And are they comfy?

I have two pair of sandals from Clarks, like most of my shoes if they're not trainers or Converse. The top ones are Originals and they made them for a couple of years in different colours but I really only liked these ones.

I bought these this year, they're very comfy too.

And I wear flip flops when I'm not at work. Love flip flops, love the ease of taking them off and driving in bare feet ( I know you're not supposed to).

I'm hopelessly addicted to Skechers because of how soft they are underneath and how in the Go Walk range there's hardly ever anything that can rub anywhere.

I'm looking for a slightly more summery pair atm because my current wear-all-the-time pair have given me a shocking tan line right across the top of my feet.

These are my current shoes (they're bright pink inside):

Trainers in summer (with most of the upper made of mesh to let the sweat out), hiking boots the rest of the year. Probably got around 8 pairs of shoes, a paltry amount compared to some of you on this thread. Mostly hiking boots and trainers.

Got some pricey Vivo Barefoot efforts that are very good. See they do ankle boots now too but not tried those.
So I've been looking at them and wondering if they are good enough to drop so much money on - especially without being able to try them on first...
Which ones have you got?

These ones: Motus II Mesh Mens been eyeing the new desert boot things too, Think they have a no quibble returns policy which is a bit of a faff but at least you're not stuck with them.

I've always been tempted to buy a pair of these. No idea how robust they are though, and special 'finger' socks are needed alongside them.

Don't get me started on those bloody awful things. I hate them with a vengeance having had to deal with many injuries caused by people switching to them.

If anyone is thinking of going straight into barefoot trainers expect achy calves and the distinct possibility of Achilles tendon problems.

Can you give more details before I impulse buy a pair? :hmm:

I tried the high ones once and couldn't do them at all, but the low ones are very comfy. The rigid sole takes a bit of getting used to, because our pavements and streets round here are old, uneven and cobbled, but they're fine once you've worn them for a day. (wouldn't drive in 'em, though!)
I waited and waited till they came up on the sale/seconds page for 35 quid.

Clogs are a bugger to get used to. The perils of compulsory Northern footwear. :(

I've bought some cheap shoes online with mixed results. I too hate spending money on shoes I never wear because they hide their true nature until you've worn them a few times. I will be ordering more of these:

Exceedingly comfortable but probably won't last the summer especially as I'm wearing them 3 or 4 times a week. I normally order size 5 (38) to accommodate my wide feet. Their size 38/4.5 is a fab fit for width and length for me so you might need to size up. The first couple of times I wore them I could feel a couple of the seams at the crossed bit but then they were fine.

Shout out to quimcunx very cute and very comfy indeed!

The leopard ones are amazing! But they dont have them in my size :(

Same as I wear in winter - Birkenstock Oxfords, Meindl boots. Birkies have absolutely cured my ingrowing toenails...will not wear anything else.

What's the sizing like in Birkenstock boots? I usually go down a size in the sandals ... is it same for boots?
