That's a pity. I still have about three pairs but two pairs are well over a decade old and the other pair isn't far off. Maybe that's why I haven't bought any for a long time, they just don't seem the same. Now I know it's because they're not the sameI used to love them too. I have a lovely old pair of "trainers" from the made in Morocco days. I have worn the soles flat, but the leather is in fantastic condition. They are made in Vietnam now. The new pair I got for xmas a couple of years ago are rubbish, frankly. I assume they were bought out by private equity.
Yes - they're Fly. I find them quite easy to walk in, but the sizing's a 'mare. Even different colours in the same style can vary. Are the Green ones Fly? I bought a pair once with the same sort of heal and I couldn't wear them, really couldn't walk in them. I know lots of people like them though.
How about these? Theres low and high wedges as well. I was recommended them recently but I get my toes out so tkmaxxed some Birkenstocks instead. WomensThis thread is hopeless for me. That's what I get for being a member of a UK based board. You can basically wear normal shoes in the summer. Here it's usually 35- 40 degrees in the summer with 80% or more humidity so no way of wearing closed shoes.
Oh dear. Ohhhhhhh dear.Wore these today and was very comfortable...

Oh dear. Ohhhhhhh dear.
So I've been looking at them and wondering if they are good enough to drop so much money on - especially without being able to try them on first...Got some pricey Vivo Barefoot efforts that are very good. See they do ankle boots now too but not tried those.
These ones: Motus II Mesh Mens been eyeing the new desert boot things too, Think they have a no quibble returns policy which is a bit of a faff but at least you're not stuck with them.So I've been looking at them and wondering if they are good enough to drop so much money on - especially without being able to try them on first...
Which ones have you got?
I should probably not comment on your footwear again, ever, even when you are in docs. Actually. especially when you are in Docs. Sorry. Why "oh dear" ?
They were comfortable...
Eta....I'll be back in my docs soon enough....lol

Espadrilles are both taboo and oooohLol.. I was only.asking in case espadrilles were taboo...
Don't get me started on those bloody awful things. I hate them with a vengeance having had to deal with many injuries caused by people switching to them.I've always been tempted to buy a pair of these. No idea how robust they are though, and special 'finger' socks are needed alongside them.

If anyone is thinking of going straight into barefoot trainers expect achy calves and the distinct possibility of Achilles tendon problems.
I tried the high ones once and couldn't do them at all, but the low ones are very comfy. The rigid sole takes a bit of getting used to, because our pavements and streets round here are old, uneven and cobbled, but they're fine once you've worn them for a day. (wouldn't drive in 'em, though!)I love these. Have been tempted for ages but I'm used to wearing not hard to walk in shoes. How long does it take? And are they comfy?

I've bought some cheap shoes online with mixed results. I too hate spending money on shoes I never wear because they hide their true nature until you've worn them a few times. I will be ordering more of these:
Hot-sale Hollow Out Leather Breathable Casual Slip On Moccasin For Women - NewChic
Exceedingly comfortable but probably won't last the summer especially as I'm wearing them 3 or 4 times a week. I normally order size 5 (38) to accommodate my wide feet. Their size 38/4.5 is a fab fit for width and length for me so you might need to size up. The first couple of times I wore them I could feel a couple of the seams at the crossed bit but then they were fine.

I waited and waited till they came up on the sale/seconds page for 35 quid.
Same as I wear in winter - Birkenstock Oxfords, Meindl boots. Birkies have absolutely cured my ingrowing toenails...will not wear anything else.
I thought you'd whittle your own over the winterClogs are a bugger to get used to. The perils of compulsory Northern footwear.
I would say so. Although I like gigantic footwear (socks!). Definitely on the generous side. What's the sizing like in Birkenstock boots? I usually go down a size in the sandals ... is it same for boots?
