Probably not in a size 5 though.

You could get a wig.I don't have the hair
I got a pair of barely worn black Barkers brogues in 6 for a tenner on ebay last week - if you check regular enough they turn up cheap.I'm not a man but I would dearly love a pair of leather wingtip brogues with leather soles. Either black or brown or tan.
A really good pair .... made by a company like Barker or Cheaney or dare I say it Grenson. They're stupid expensive...but before I die I will make it my mission to have a pair of them...
In size 5.....UK ...... in case anyone has a pair lying around....
Sigh.
"Get yourself a style signature item"Anything you like - and that's a great shirt!
I think fit is more important than anything else when you're older - too loose or too tight isn't great.

I'm never really sure when you post threads like this whether you're actually looking for advice or not GG, but in case you are I've given it some thought: considering your interests in France, workwear and affordability, I recommend you start with a French workers jacket - a simple and affordable item of clothing - all the fashion houses made versions of these a few years ago so there are some eyewateringly expensive models about, but the vintage versions (especially in france) are very affordable.
I think the french workers jacket is a really good start, and other things to wear flow quite naturally from it: you could wear it with a chambray shirt like the guy in the pic, or a breton top... maybe a beret would be pushing it too far, but a flat cap of some sort also goes well. I wear mine with quite loose brown cotton or corduroy trousers or jeans.I am genuinely interested - I'm going to have to be a bit proactive socially wherever it is I retire to.
I'll google around and see what the locals are wearing in the places I might want to live.

That looks very handy - like a heavier duty shirt.
At work where as always I'm in a black tee shirt, I have a heavy shirt for when it's nippy out.
I have just checked and my "moto" cotton jacket - which is heavier again - is still fairly respectable
I almost have to wear sunglasses when I buy a new pair of trainers - they ain't pretty !I think the french workers jacket is a really good start, and other things to wear flow quite naturally from it: you could wear it with a chambray shirt like the guy in the pic, or a breton top... maybe a beret would be pushing it too far, but a flat cap of some sort also goes well. You seem very happy in your hi-tek trainers and aldi workwear though: why not stick with what works?
TBH as long as you're regularly laundered and don't stink, no-one really cares what you wear IME.The polycotton combats / shorts are very cheap and very practical for cycling and crawling around furniture and equipment, but I'm going to need to make a bit of an effort.
Get them!Thanks...
First ones are exactly what I'd like...
