What coffee are you drinking just now?

I tried to have iced coffee a couple of times last year and hated it every time. Just doesn’t taste right

I can see it as a marmite thing. I've only ever had the premade milky stuff, which is ok,but frankly I'd rather drink an energy drink.

This was a different beast. I think I'll have to try another one at some point to decide. Apparently it's called Freddo like the chocolate. Google says it should have a dash of milk and normally sugar, but this was definitely just fresh strong coffee, rapidly chilled with a lot of ice.

i nearly always regret ordering iced coffee the few times I do - when it’s really hot - but definitely needs milk and sugar for it to stand a chance imho.

Couldn't really make this up ...

I was down to my last few days of beans - hopefully new supply will arrive in time...

So Monday morning I carefully weigh 22g of beans into the grinder.

It takes me a minute to hand grind the beans while I was doing stuff online - wasn't aware of any change ...
When I tipped the ground coffee into the aeropress it seemed somewhat stuck in there ...
When I pressed the plunger, I couldn't get it more than half way ...

Initially I assumed I'd somehow left yesterday's grounds in there - but that's almost impossible - so I reckon I'd already weighed beans into the grinder yesterday and made my coffee with 44g of beans - SIX espressos.

It tasted wrong, but initially not super-strong ...
Thankfully I haven't drunk all of it, but if I was half asleep earlier, I'm somewhat unpleasantly wired now ...
I'll put the rest of the mug in the fridge just in case...

BP 126 / 73 pulse 73 so the caffeine doesn't seem to be doing damage

Edit :- With only 35g of beans left and a dilemma for the next couple of days, that issue has been averted thanks to my new beans being delivered by hand the same day I ordered them :)

The pregnancy which resulted in my younger daughter made itself known to us in Bewleys on Grafton Street.

Mrs LR thought the coffee tasted weird, so she went and got a pregnancy test from Boots opposite and did the test in Bewleys toilets, then relayed the news to me at the table.

For years daughter two told people - teachers, all sorts - she’d been conceived in the toilets of Bewleys. She was embarrassed to finally discover what conceived meant.

I always wondered why her teachers looked at us funny at Parent-Teachers’ evenings.

Do you know, that's where I got my coffee from. It tasted fine but I'd get some odd looks perhaps if I bought a plt in the boots, still there
