What are U Wearing 2-day?

Yesterday, a day in Snowdonia - left at 05.50, got home at 20.45.

Decathlon blaselayer - slate grey.
Craghopper stretch trousers - slate grey.
Paramo Funeral windproof jacket - red and grey.
Alt-berg Warrior boots (brown), and Berghaus Yeti gaiters - green.
Woolly hat - grey.

Had a clothing adjustment after an hour our so - t'was warm in the valley, but much cooler and very windy on the tops - Paramo went in the bag, and out came Buffalo special 6 (green), and woolly gloves - grey.

POD Black Ice rucksack (black and purple with lime shock cord), proper old skool from the early 90's..

All of which was properly piss wet by the time I got to the car at 6.30 or so. Got a massive Kebab in Llangollen...

Now, weird fish t-shirt - blue, running shorts - red (there'll be no running today..), and flip-flops.

We had planned to go to the Green Man Festival at Club, Shropshire, today, but the weather and a collective failure to be arsed has put the boot into that...

Do you mean Clun in Shropshire? I'm going to be there for a week at the start of June. Is there plenty of good walking round there?
Also, walking up Snowdon, is it possible without all the high tech clothing?

Today I'm wearing
Blue Levis, no idea what number they are
Orange and white striped t shirt
Orange socks
Shitty grey walking shoe/trainer type things
Yellow Patagonia lightweight jacket when I was out walking

Hi Shirl, yes, Clun in Shropshire - endless fantastic walking country. Two very good pubs as well!

The Kerry Ridgeway is nextdoor, that's worth a day, apart from that just pick anything on the map and you'll not be disappointed. The castle is nice to sit and do nothing, and the river is good for dipping your toes - fishing is worth a punt...

There's a village shop with most basic stuff and a cash point, the pubs, a 'nice things' shop (I recommend a bar of their lanolin soap..) and a gallery. There's a bigger supermarket in Kerry.

You'll love it, it's the most beautiful, peaceful place you could imagine.

As for Snowdon, I want to say yes, but the local MRT spends its life pulling people off with hypothermia, twisted ankles and exhaustion - if you've got walking boots, a waterproof jacket, a litre of water, a cheese roll, some sweets and a bit of Yorkshire grit you should be fine. It was about 10c colder on the tops today, it was breezy as well - it was about 16c in the valley, windchill took the temps at 1000m down to about 4c. It was sunny and lovely, but not a place to linger.

Thanks for the Clun info, that's really helpful and I'm very much looking forward to going now :)

I used to live in North Wales on the edge of Snowdonia but Snowdon being almost on the doorstep we just never got around to walking up it  Now I'm really regretting that so I'd like to do it this year if possible. I have decent walking clothes and boots but just nothing special so I'll aim for maybe a warm August day with not too much sun.
Also, I've buckets of Yorkshire grit :D

Snowdonia again...

Baselayer
Paramo fuera windproof jacket
Craghopper pro-stretch trousers
Alt-berg defender (not warrior..) boots with Berghaus Yeti gaiters.

Montane Flux belay jacket for stops.

Some of the bits today I could have done with shorts, some of it was fucking knobbing and I could have done with my buffalo...
