Weird fake album on Spotify #147

Once again Spotify alerted me that a favourite band of mine, this time Earth, the Seattle drone metal duo, had released a new album.



The cover didn’t look right. And the music certainly isn’t them.

Fake news, fake food, fake art, fake music. Fuck sake, universe!

Yeah this is happening to loads of artists. Saw on Reddit that it happened to sub focus. Not sure how it works but the music was AI made and the people that upload it get paid until it eventually gets flagged then removed. It sounded like elevator music apparently, and not the good kind.

It does. I was messing around last night with chat gpt asking it to write a novel with a few pointers and it got quite far into it. It wasn't great TBF. But people doing this don't really care about the quality.
