Unpopular film & TV opinions

Hans Zimmer is not that good. Every movie he does, the reviewers all say his score is incredible, like nothing every heard before, completely makes the film. Then you watch the film and it's just a load of very load banging noises. Just like the last film score he did.
kind of agree about his more recent work, but it has overshadowed his earlier work, which can be lush and beautiful:

as well as uplifting, catchy and triumphant:

Didn't get halfway through The Thin Red Line. Thought it was pretentious, fart-sniffing twaddle.

Woody Allen's films are all way overrated. (Assume so anyway, given I've seen his 'best' ones -- including Annie Hall, Manhattan and Sleeper -- at least and was distinctly underwhelmed.)

And Midnight in Paris being nominated for multiple Oscars and winning one? Wtf.
Have you seen Crimes and Misdemeanours? That one really does work with the play of the comedy and tragedy.

He has churned out some guff, but occasionally he pulls it out of the bag. This from Hannibal was rather good.

Movie is a better word than film and I plan to use it in the future. Film refers in a literal sense to the physical medium whereas a movie is clear it is about the cultural phenomenon. Just admit, sometimes the Americans get something right.

I never understand people who pre judge movies/tv by the people who are in acting in it. They might very well be different in the new role they are playing because they are um... actors.
I agree with this except for Tom Hanks. so far my Never Tom Hanks rule as proved 100% reliable, the few times I've broken it, I've regretted it every time.
