Undercover policing enquiry

Transcriptions of the live xtweeting by the COPS campaign and Tom Fowler of today's sessions which were not livestreamed publicly.

The redacted transcript of yesterdays session, including the parts which weren't livestreamed, is up here (PDF)

And the Inquiry have put up a mere 731 exhibits relating to Bob Lambert's evidence. They do not include Lamberts witness statement to the Inquiry but do include statements by him to earlier investigations, and witness statements by a number of people about him. There are a lot of his SDS reports which in addition to the green and animal rights circles he was infiltrating also include some about Class War, Wapping etc. This page on the Inquiry site seems to link to all that have been put up so far. I think. There are other pages which link to fewer items (???). You will need to set the drop down box under 'Associated publications' to show 'All'.

This morning's session is not being livestreamed. It has been left open whether this afternoon's will be.

Bob Lambert is taking enormous amounts of time to say very little. (The transcripts reflect his rambling and evasive style very well).
As a result he will not just be back tomorrow but next Tuesday as well.

Thanks for links Lurdan.

I quick flick through some of the stuff from Hackney shows that it is basically a load of gossip "An informal meeting took place at the Cricketers Pub on Northwold Road" :D and tedious details of "X has now moved from this squat to this squat". Y has organised a van from his work to get people to an anti-fascist demo etc etc.

I mean I do absolutely believe that a bunch of anarchists in a pub in 1987 may not have been entirely negative about someone burning down the Tory Party HQ in Stoke Newington. But it's remarkable that the massed ranks of undercover officers drinking pints in Hackney paid for with public money weren't able to get even a suggestion of who the culprit might be.

they were akip under the table when the names were bandied about no doubt

Seems that after several days of not recalling things, Bob is emphatic about not being involved with any actions or discussions relating to planting firebombs at Debenhams in 1987.

And adamant that all six witnesses who stated under oath that Bob Lambert told them about the arson plans before it happened were lying for revenge against him!

Lambert is back on Tuesday. Monday evidence from two activists 'Walter' and 'Callum'.

At one point Lambert suggested that Simon Tremaine had claimed he had said incriminatory stuff because Tremaine had been posting about him on an unnamed 'Forum'.
Tom Fowler tweeted this

tom fowler xtweets: ''Bob Lambert says that when he was unmasked as a #spycops officer, Simon Turmaine was posting on an internet forum about him, claims the forum had an axe to grind about him. I presume he is talking about Urban75''

How could anyone possibly imagine we have an axe to grind about this lying scumbag fucker?

Simon Turmaine - a friend of Belinda Lambert who met Lambert through her - was the ‘LooseStool’ poster on Harry's Place in 2011. He also posted a below-the-line comment on a Guardian story about Lambert. Tom is just mistakenly making the Urban75 reference - Lambert had been criticised by Harry's Place at that time in reference to his Muslim Contact Unit work.

So nonsensical have Lambert's responses that in his daily reports Tom Fowler has had to resort to the shorthand of 'word salad' (and ensuing verb, adjectival and adverbial variations thereof) to summarise the meaningless, minutes-long fake answers from Slippery Bob 😁

Evidence today from witness ‘Callum’ (identity protected), on hunt sabbing with Brixton Hunt Sabs etc. Presumably setting up prep for HN87 ‘John Lipscombe’.

Transcription of this afternoon's live xtweeting by the COPS campaign. (Morning is above). The link to Tom Fowlers xtweets in the post above has been updated to include the whole day.

The redacted transcript when it goes up should be interesting. Lambert is back tomorrow morning but given that they have only just got to 1988 (his deployment didn't finish until early 1989) it seems increasingly likely that he may be called back for further days.

A lot more pressing from Inquiry counsel David Barr today - showing a lot less willingness to indulge Lambert's long, meandering non-replies.

Even Mitting stepped in when Lambert tried to claim that maybe a dubious report was based on John Dines' intelligence, pointing out that he knows from reading Dones' own reports that he was restricted to south London and had no sight of the people being defamed in Lambert's reports, forcing Lambert to backtrack.

The were heavy reporting restrictions today - it seems that Lambert including some right porkers in his reports - making serious criminal allegations about specific people. The fact that there was no follow-up on these lead Barr to suggest it was all bullshit and smears. Lambert had nothing to rebut this.

Lambert has settled into a rhythm of just saying ‘whatever is in the report definitely happened, but I don't remember any of the details about how the intelligence was obtained’. Absolutely still stringing things along and trying to run the clock down.

Mitting has denied the application by the KC representing Geoff Sheppard and Paul Gravett to cross-examine Lambert.

Penny finally dropped on a person whose identity is covered by a restriction order (who is occasionally referred to as ‘He Who Must Not Be Named’) - I did a lot of digging on him during a certain time period for certain reasons, but could never get much of a handle on certain behaviour directions

Unclear if we will hear from Claire Hildreth (London Animal Action) who originally was supposed to be giving evidence all day.

She's being squeezed in right at the end of the day. Clearly very unimpressed by the Inquiry and its staff's treatment of non-police non-state witnesses.

Mitting threatened ‘Jessica’ - said if she didn't appear tomorrow he wouldn't hear hear evidence at all.

Earlier today some threads were drawn together - as far as the actual ALF activists were concerned, there was a single unused device (the second of two Bob Lambert had) unaccounted for. Bob, meanwhile, has been saying there was a stash of them, made by Andrew Clarke.

It is being posited that subsequent to the Debenhams plot, Lambert planted his additional device at Selfridges, and put out an ALF press release claiming responsibility.

Transcriptions of the live xtweeting by the COPS campaign and Tom Fowler of the 7th day of Bob Lambert's evidence.

Lambert finished at 4.30pm. There was then a delay and Claire Hildreth then gave evidence.

'What would it have taken to have stopped you deceiving women emotionally and sexually, as you in fact did?' Barr asks quite bluntly.

Lambert suggests there should have been some 'independent fully qualified medical input'...

The end 5 minutes of the afternoon stream sums up the absolute grimness - of the programme, of the spycops themselves, of their bosses, and of some of the people around them even today.
