The Covid Inquiry

What's peculiar is she seems to be saying some of her messages to Johnson disappeared too
I dunno. Maybe if you actually reply to the message i.e. actually quote it and the sender deletes the message they sent you for everyone it deletes your quoted reply as well? Either that or she's talking bollox.

She says she can't find messages to or from Johnson for a period. Sure Johnson could delete his. But I don't know anyone but you can delete yours: if this is to be believed

Not really. There is an option in WhatsApp to delete for me, or delete for everyone if you sent the original message.
So someone, most likely Johnson, has gone through the conversation and manually deleted the incriminating messages.

I didnt end up grabbing the bits from the closing statements of Module 2 that I wanted to put here, because a family member and myself got covid at the time. I didnt have it bad at all but it still threw me off track, I will have to revisit that stuff later.

Public hearings for module 2A, the Scottish version of the module we just had for the UK, have begun today. As with previous modules, they started with a harrowing film of victims and relatives of victims talking about the pandemic. Then moved on to opening statements from core participants.

I dont have as much time available to watch and cover proceedings as I did previously, so I'll probably only end up commenting only the most obvious attention-grabbing stuff. This module only lasts till 1st February, and I dont think there are any really high profile witnesses this week.

Simon Case finally gave evidence today.

I only listened to about an hour of it because Im recovering from a migraine and Im pretty much done with the whole thing. And because he had no trouble with his performance today, as you might expect from someone with his job role, he can do all the required diplomacy and spin and navigation and downplaying of awkward private messages with relative ease.

In the hour I listened to him, all I got out of it was that he had to acknowledge that at one point he felt the need to tell Johnson to stop agreeing with the chancellor every time. But as my brain is not on top form I dont know if I've quite described that accurately.
