Come on then urbz, hit me up with some ultimate recipe action. I used to make a wicked fruit cake from an ex 's mum's family recipe.

I've lost it though and fancy making some baking.

I did think, but my ultimate fruit cake recipe is for a Christmas cake which didn't seem appropriate.

The last fruit cake I made, the fruit all sank to the bottom.

I made a dark chocolate fruit cake a while ago which was fucking lush. It may have been this recipe but I can't remember for sure. I know it had brandy in it. :)

On a more positive note, I can recommend her apple and cinnamon cake. It has a layer of grated apple and cinnamon in the middle which makes it a bit special. Well, special enough to make it into the 'baking for bazaars' section of the book anyway.

Ahh - that may be why my last attempt turned-out as a sticky-bottomed brick!

I use this one. I vary the combination of dried fruit every time, just stick to the 750g weight. I make it boozier than the recipe stipulates. Has never failed me.
