I made a dark chocolate fruit cake a while ago which was fucking lush. It may have been this recipe but I can't remember for sure. I know it had brandy in it.
On a more positive note, I can recommend her apple and cinnamon cake. It has a layer of grated apple and cinnamon in the middle which makes it a bit special. Well, special enough to make it into the 'baking for bazaars' section of the book anyway.
I use this one. I vary the combination of dried fruit every time, just stick to the 750g weight. I make it boozier than the recipe stipulates. Has never failed me.
