Maybe this is unrelated, but there was some chat earlier in the week about restarting talks with the PKK. I wonder whether this is intended as a response, or to look like a response, to that?

Not for a couple of years they haven’t, since Russia started deploying air defences once they realised they wouldn’t be welcomed as liberators with paths of flowers etc. Useful up to this point.

Not much used now in Ukraine but Bayraktars have lately been pretty effective in Azerbaijan hands against Armenian defences, one could make some inferences
