Viome is a workers collectivised factory in Greece reclaimed by its workers after it was abandoned by its owners during the economic crisis.
While used by all types of movements, including SYRIZA, as a symbol of worker resistance, SYRIZA now threatens them with eviction.
As a result of the legal battle waged against the workers’ collective, a state-appointed trustee is now organizing a series of auctions with the aim of liquidating the plot of land on which the factory is located. The sale of the land would create the legal ground for evicting the workers from the factory.
This event will host the screening of the film 'Occupy, Resist, Produce: VIOME' but also have comrades who have participated in the recent Greek collectives and will be able to lead on any questions.
