Not binged something like this for a while. Started first season last week. Watched the penultimate one in S3 last night. Was quite fustrating, my OH wanted to go to bed with watching the final, as she had an an early start.

Didn't like the new series to begin with, it seemed like Narcos:Hackney.

It improved but the original Summerhouse series are still the best IMO. That last episode of Summerhouse series 2 is as good as it gets

Also, it felt like the Liverpool subplot might veer into a crossover with The 51st State or that they might bump into Layer Cake's Trevor and Shanks at any moment

Agreed. I wasn't keen on the end of the new series. Felt like they'd run out of ideas so just went for something similar to what they'd done before instead of something interesting and thought provoking.

I've loved this but felt it was done by the last series. All the characters had done a 360, some more than once, and the last series did not feel fresh any more.
Hopefully back to form for the upcoming one.

Was that season 5? Just finished that myself. As you say, not unexpected, but think they could have done more with it. Guardian gave it 5 stats though.

I think it may have been.

It might just be me but the penultimate scene with Sully and Dushane reminded me of the scene between Pacino and D'Niro in the film Heat at the end

Did it feel rushed? Maybe. But the original two series were both only 4 episodes each.

I still enjoyed it though. And I like the ambiguity in the ending. Lots of speculation online and people saying they know. Well they don't know unless they're Ronan Bennett

My theory was Ranell to revenge Leon’s death but I guess it could be anybody as Sully made a lot of enemies

I feel it was rushed.

Think it was the guy who got gun put into his mouth by sully that did it.

I enjoyed it, watched it arse about face tho’ - watched ep 1 and half of ep 2 and fell asleep, woke up and Mrs Numbers was on ep 5 so watched half of that, then watched ep 3, 4 & 5 before finally going back and watching ep 1-5.

One thing I was surprised with was there was no comeback from Vee (Curtis’ sister).

I think they could do another season and let Stefan rise through the ranks.

Overall, loved it.
