Things you really hate about the Premier League

Yeah, what's the matter with me? How dare I criticise these millionaires for acting like self obsessed babies!

Oh, and I don't think modern life is rubbish either. I've never had so much fun at football recently. It's fucking brilliant.

Well, not so brilliant if you're a Premier League fan that actually goes to games. £82 for a back of the stand seat.

Mugs,Could have sat behind the goal for 55 quid.:D

They payed good money in to walk out.:D That will teach those greedy owners.

Aye but,

a) its already sparked a review of pricing by FSG and Klopp has come out and said a solution needs to be found
b) gives a glimpse of what fans can achieve if they act together.

Just thinking about the next game. Work for the team. Obviously pleased to pick up the three pointszzzzzzzzzzzzz

Exactly. It's painful. Like watching politicians stay 'on message.' And I don't want to watch that. I want to watch the opposite of that. I want my sports stars giving it the full on 'COME ON' and 'IN YOUR FACE' and 'I AM THE GREATEST' etc. or at the very least want some mysterious philosophical musing, a la Eric Cantona.

Not Wayne Rooney going 'ehhy yeah y'know hopefully we can take it to the next game' 'obviously good to win away' 'pleased with the result' 'worked well as a team today y'know'

Factor in that they are not very good. If they were top 3 i don't think it would happen. They didn't walk when Stevie G was pulling nigh on a hundred grand a week.

Yes,why do you ask?

Just wondered as your previous comment indicated you knew nothing of the protests against Hicks and Gillet (when they finished in the top two), the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, the fans campaign against the Sun newspaper, the support for striking dock workers etc etc

Well, you know what, as I've said already, this is the best football has ever been for me. It's BRILLIANT.

And non-league football IS shit. It's the sense of community that everyone enjoys. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It just comes across as a bit 'born again'.

The latest walkout is about the club charging £77 for a limited ticket (200 @ £77). I think it's shit but then you have fans complaining that the club won't spend money on big name players to win them trophies.I don't understand why fans moan about ticket prices but are happy to laud and cheer players that are taking 70k plus a week from their club.
Jamie Carragher gets a nice wedge from sky tv or is it bt sport ? maybe he should make a stance and lobby them or even tear up his contract.

The new logo. Behold its shitness :D

There's not even a football in it, and I bet it cost a fortune. Says it all really.

I hate the "peep-peep-PEEEEEEEP" at the end of games. It's like my dad doing shave and a haircut when we go round somewhere.

Utter bollocks. It can be every bit as exciting and as passionate as the Premier League. The games can be patchy (hey, that happens at higher levels too) but there's plenty of skill on offer.

Actually, it's the sense of being able to actually watch a decent football game in a non controlled, corporate, sterile atmosphere and not pay through the nose for it. How may times have you seen your team play this year? How much has it cost you?

And perhaps you've forgotten about the basics in your Premier League, but football has always been about community.

Is this a new thing? I've only recently noticed it watching a game the other day. It reminds me of keen school sports teachers who always did that at school.

there certainly are borders and boundaries in the TV rights that bring the Premier League its fortunes...

I'll have seen Leicester play live a pitiful three times by the end of the season - once free, twice £30. But I've only missed one game from the comfort of my armchair thanks to TV and, more pertinently, piracy, despite being a Sky Sports subscriber. I'm happy to pay for it - it's really not that much.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy non-league when I go.

'My' Premier League :D This year, maybe...

Ah, a Sky customer. A Murdoch funder. Enjoy (lol) 'supporting' your team on that comfy sofa.

Mind you, I fancy all that armchair viewing puts you on something of a sticky wicket when you start criticising the real fans who get off their arse every week to actually support their local team.

Oh fuck off :D I live a three hour drive from the ground and have a two-year old son who I spent all my free time with. I'm not about to succumb to that tired old crap.

Perhaps you should think twice before patronising and criticising non league supporters, and those who spend their money at their local club and not financing a fucking right wing cunt like Murdoch.

not that you'd ever criticise people who can't afford the premiership and so find solace following teams like grimsby town and doncaster rovers.

I've never criticised anyone following Grimsby or Doncaster - both teams I'm rather fond of - but I do find it hard to take lectures from 'fans' who never actually get off their arse to support their team, or any other team, for that matter.

Murdoch-financing sofa fans, if you will.

yeh? i've seen doncaster rovers at all sorts of grounds in london, at craven cottage, at brisbane road, at underhill back in the day, at kingsmeadow when they were in the conference - i always like seeing them when they come to town, and i've a similar record watching grimsby.

That's nice. When did you last see them?
