How can you feel ambivalent about Tim in sussies?? The man is a god I tell you! :D

That bit when he comes down in the lift and says..."an.tis...iii.pa..tion".
I could replay that bit of the video for hours  unfortunately I have now knacked it :(

Best moment, when Frank comes down the elevator and his heels are tapping. I adore Tim Curry. Not sure about best song, Sweet TV gotta be up there, but they are all wonderful for the scenes they portray. Wild and untamed thing also wonderful. (quote madamv)

I think it's time we had a fag-hag forum :D

you're not a sad kiljoy at all. but you're not well placed to comment on the show

i think watching it is an essential part of growing up. as spanglechick pointed , it does open some doors in the teenage mind . take some catchy pop songs to draw you in to the wierdness below

But what's so wierd exactly? The campness? I saw it on TV when I was 17 and thought, "is that it?"

 Does anyone know the name of the american film where the main cast go to a cinema version of RHPS and everyone is dancing on the stage. I think John Boy from the Waltons is in it? Or maybe it was a Waltons episode?

I remember it was around mid eighties...

Was it in Fame (film, not TV show)
Or am I going mad

Aargh, now you've done it - I remember that too, but I don't think it was the Waltons; I remember it being a boy and a (shy, retiring) girl, who got up on stage to dance with everyone else. And the audience are shouting "ASSHOLE!" at Brad..?

<goes off to Google>

According to the IMDB Movie connections page, it is referenced in American Beauty, which is the only likely candidate in that list that I've seen (no idea where it is referenced in Pulp Fiction) although the American Beauty script has no reference to RHPS in it..

Thats it Buddy! Bloody hell... how annoying that no one has the answer.
Maybe it is Fame the movie FiFi? I will have to watch it again to find out.

Shirl - it truly is a fag hag forum when we get together. :D

Director 'Alan Parker' wanted a scene that showed Doris overcoming her fear and becoming an actress. He heard of the audience participation at the local screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and went to check it out. He loved it so much that he not only decided to use it in the film, he had many of the "cast" from the local screenings appear in the film, as the people doing the time-warp on stage when Doris runs up and joins them

Ta dahhhh FiFi you darling..... wanna join Shirls fag hag gang? :D

Thanks to the spangly one, I watched this last night! It was erm... interesting. Tim Curry in stockings shagging Susan Sarandon kinda stirred some different feelings *down there*. :p

Loved the Time Warp song. Finished thinking that was a very strange film though...

It's the movie of Fame where the mousy girl has a joint and ends up dancing on stage. Ah, Rocky Horror, an important part of the eighties, although seeing the original stage show at the age of 12 at the Comedy Theatre made a very big impression (as you can probably imagine). I played a Transylvanian in a production in Liverpool round about 1983 and it was a fantastic show to be in but very hard work! I love the whole floor show and the bit when they all turn out to be from another planet. Magenta was my favourite. Tim Curry is great, he brings an extra special something to every role he plays.

:) L

Apart from Susan Sarandon being bloody horny it, the best thing I liked about it was Tim Curry, particularly his voice. He really should have been in so many more horror flicks. He was absolutely superb in Legend as the Devil. He had the perfect voice for that part. Just wish he'd done more.

I was pretty sure DaveCinzano would've posted that.

On at 22:55 tonight.

If anyone's interested.

(If they are, I might even look up the channel).

I am. What channel?
I haven't seen it for years.
I don't have a tv but if it's BBC, ITV or 4 I can watch on line.

My parents took us to see it at the theatre when I was about 12 (sister 10) without really knowing the extent of the sex stuff.
I thought it was the best thing ever :D

This uncalled-for bumping of prehistoric threads is getting a bit silly now.

But you must admit you can't win?
You bump ancient threads or risk starting a new one and generally either way you get slated

It's a tricky one for sure. I just get sick of inadvertently responding to posts made when I was still in short trousers, in some cases by posters who have since taken their leave of this world :(

I know. I do get that.
I just don't think you can win over all.

I'm forced to think 'Was I drunk that night?'

Probably. I discovered the RHPS over a four pack of Holsten Pils

Fame. BTW sorry about the huge delay in answering that.
