There were two scientists on the radio yesterday morning convinced that we will suffer another pandemic prior to the end of the decade. It was not a case of if but when.

Its a case of when, which virus, how severe, and then other stuff such as which age groups are most at risk and what policy options the R number offers us.

The unknowns about when mean they cant actually express certainty about whether it will be this decade or not. Well they can, but it will impact their credibility.
