The Monochrome Set are back!

Managed to track down a copy of the destiny always calls twice dvd on the cheap. Very hapoy about that. Not much I haven't seen before from youtube, but interesting nevertheless. A music video for Strange Boutique, i think recorded for New Zealand tv I've not seen before. And snippets of videos for songs off Lost Weekend like Cowboy Country (possibly my favourite song The Set ever did) and Starry Nowhere. Nice addition to the collection.
 
So the new single has got a fair bit of airplay already and we've a load of UK gigs coming up.

We still haven't made it to Birmingham but we're getting closer with a gig at Stourbridge!

Box of Sorrows is the latest song from the upcoming new Monochrome Set album up on YouTube. New album out next month. Can't wait for the release and show in Lewes the day after.

About a month back i read that The Jazz Butcher had used the same town square set which was on a new Monochrome Set music video and got pretty excited.

Anyway, I got my limited editon blue vinyl and cd yesterday. Which was pretty awesome as I was expecting it today! Gettimg pumped for Lewes tomorrow. Will give some thoughts on the new album after a few more listens.
 
Great show in Lewes tonight, the band sounded tighter than at the london gig at the end of last year. Waiting for Alberto was a nice surprise. If all is well and good I will be at the gig in Islington next month.

My knee is a bit sore, not sure what happened, hopefuly it wont give me too much hassle in the morning.

The keyboard player and I ended up at the Volunteer after getting smashed. The pub was wild!
 
Bloody hell. I don't think it's possible to get a more positive review than this!

So by accident or design, the Monochrome Set still remain out there as creatively brilliant as ever, as melodically inventive and musically imaginative as ever and are perfectly happy to engage with their cult crowd as ever whilst remaining beyond the fringe may be robbing the general public of something magical and thrilling that they were bound to miss anyway.

The Monochrome Set may be the greatest band you have never heard of (although I know dear LTW readers will already love them with all their fluttering hearts), The Monochrome Set are so unique and so perfect that their songs fill the room with the joy of pop at its most regal.

Monochrome Set are performing in Islington on the 16th April. Looking forward to it, if you're going feel free to message me! I will be attending on my own, and it's nice to meet people. Especially other fans.

P.S. if any member from the band just happens to be here, get some Dante's Casino up in here, House of God is a banger... hell the whole album is... great drumming... ;)

We played Glasgow and Edinburgh on the weekend, and I really loved the latter's 'underground' venue called The Caves (it's actually under a 250 year old bridge).



We're off to Hebden Bridge next Saturday and doing a Marc Riley live session on Thurs evening...
 
I'm playing Coventry tomorrow and might have a guest list space or two left for urbanites.
