The Islamic state

Here are some small practical steps that can be taken that were mentioned on another thread:

1) Support the demos going on daily in London.. you'll find out details on twitter especially from @hevallo
2) send money to http://www.heyvasor.com.en or http://www.heyvasor.com/en/alikari/
Or donate to:Kurdish Red Crescent, Fairfax Hall 11 Portland Gardens London N4 IUH
Registered Charity No: 10 93 741 Sort Code: 20 46 60 AC: 40 91 23 87
3) join the campaign to decriminalise the PKK in the UK. Even though they are in the frontline against ISIS they remain illegal in the UK,US and Europe and members are regularly harassed here. http://delistthepkk.com/
4) sign this petiton and get others to do so to asap https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petitio...vid_Cameron_We_call_on_you_to_delist_the_PKK/
5) if you are on FB join the Kurdish Revolution Info Group to find out more about the revolution going on in the Kurdish region
ta. Link in 2) isn't working for me, though.

Couple of reports from kurdish sources of ISIS trying to take the Mürşitpınar border crossing. That would be some fucking cheek. Might just be the sort of hurry-up propaganda that is all over the place from all sides.

Why does Phil have such a hard on for AKP-run Turkey?

I hate the AKP, and spent a large part of last summer demonstrating against them on the streets of Istanbul.

But I hate the PKK worse, because they kill civilians on the streets of Istanbul. I guess that's alright with you is it?

Good for trolling I guess. Ignore the sad bastard.

You know, I've encountered some right twats on here.

But I don't think I've ever encountered a twat quite so complete in their smug, self-righteous stupidity as yourself.

I mean seriously. You come on here, urging people to send money to the PKK. You've made it perfectly clear that you less than zero about the history, culture or politics of the region. And yet you jump in with "oh join the campaign to make them legal, send them money blah blah."

You are King Twat. Congratulations.

You're not sure you'd agree with everything in it, but you'll go along with it anyway.

Just about sums you up. You stupid bastard.

I'd happily go along with the bit quoted, but I had doubts about other aspects of the post as a whole - as anybody with an iota of comprehension skills would have understood. Now jog on Professor Google.

You need more information about the PKK? I'd have thought a man of your radicalism would have been Skyping with Apo on a daily basis.

Seriously though, what do you need to know?
Correct me at any point here, but why does the PKK exist? Was it not the Turkish state's policy to suppress Kurdish identity, forcibly where necessary, for many decades before the PKK came into existence? I'm not defending PKK bombs 'on the streets of Istanbul' any more than I supported IRA bombs on the streets of London and Manchester, but you appear to be focussing on just one side in this - the side that has emerged as a response to violent repression.

civilians could be professors, could be prime ministers, could be little eichmanns...

i notice you haven't used the word 'innocent' about these civilians. is there a reason for that?

As I mentioned before, there are plenty of Kurdish organizations committed to resolving the conflict by peaceful means.

The vast majority of the Kurdish people hate the PKK far worse than I do.

When Erdogan enables ISIS to murder, rape and enslave Kurds: that's smart realpolitik

When the PKK defend Kurdish civilians: dastardly bandits!

No fool. When anyone with an army behind them deliberately attacks civilians: fucking bastards.

This isn't a difficult principle to grasp. I'd venture to guess that 99% of sane people agree with it. Why don't you?

That would be an evil thing to do.

You know nothing about the PKK, do you?

Well, if the British state were simply to follow its own interests, as you've applauded the Turkish state for doing, why should they be bothered what the PPK gets up over in Turkey or anywhere else?

And by the way, if I'd said anything unpleasant about the Turkish people, or even some Turkish people, then your claim that I was rascist might have some credibility, but as my issue is wiith the Turkish state (denying the Armenian genocide; oppressing the Kurdish people, as distinct from the PPK; etc) you really have no point, do you?
