The Islamic state

I lurk this thread a lot as a primary news source on IS tbh - loving what you post frogwoman, fucking great stuff  (Others too btw)

I agree about feeling like "just KILL them, now" - but that for me harks back to the powerlessness thing in the face of this. What can an individual do? We can't start thinking we want our armed forces to go in there and just machine gun and vapourise those motherfuckers, can we, much as one may like the idea

It's so horrifically fucked up :(

I find it interesting the changes and debates around what people, politicians and the media call them, we have had "ISIL" used by Obama, "IS" used by many, "Islamic State" used by many, "so called Islamic State" used by the BBC and now "Daesh" used by those who don't like "Islamic State".

I noticed Netanyahu using "the Islamic State of Iran" on the news when as he knows it's called the Islamic Republic. Deliberate though, presumably :(

Dash is a play on words and is insulting.islamic state confers legitimacy.often the semantics of the wordplay by the various parties can provide a degree of analysis as to positions and viewpoints

People have been calling them Daesh for ages! It's because their full title is somrthing like ad-Dawlah al-Islamiyyah al-Iraq/Al Sham (i think) the shortened form for that is daesh which daesh hate as they it sounds like an nonsense/insulting word and they are being ridiculed, it also leaves out the 'islamic' in their name to show they're not an Islamic State. They call themselves Dawlah so its probably best not to search that term on Google or you will end up on some list.

They can't not be Muslim, haven't you heard of apostapy. <this you fucking tool..
They stay muslim so they don't face the wrath of their own, never mind IS.
If these so called non practitioners are so concerned they would renounce Islam, but
they do not.

The Islamic State: The clue is in the name............ no religion, no state.

You lot carry on with fookin nuance, bullshoot.
If you defend Muslims, then you defend Islam. Religion is the PROBLEM.

Oh great one Butchers, if you can be deciphered it would be great, but mostly you can't, I'll just leave it there with you, oh great one.

Dot, explain to me how the Holy See and Catholics, Islam and Muslim are not intertwined. Watch out for excommunication and other minor nuance like apostapy.(tut)
Fuck off you simpleton. hint: 2 millionUK muslims don't want to kill you or me for a start.

Ffs

"The Islamic State. Of Iran. Like ISIS. Just much bigger."

Wtf - as the punch line to a cartoon :(

There's reports (from an iraqi security official) ISIS have blown up a baby which wired with explosives to train recruits. Can anyone confirm/deny this story? It sounds like it could be bollocks (although i wouldnt put anything past them) and I would like to see it confirmed as I really don't think fake stories help the fight against ISIS in any way.

I havent seen that- do you have a link ?

It would seem to be a propaganda exercise , like Jurmans bayonetting Belgian babies in WW2. I hope i am wrong though

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/isis-blown-up-baby-terror-6059342

Here

The source seems to be Diyala’s Provincial Security Committee Chairman Sadiq el-Husseinim

anyone know anything about him or can confirm if this happened?

Its very dangerous to repeat fake stories as fact and can only help ISIS tbh (assuming the story is fake, which it looks like given the source is one security official)

Yeah they ran that story in La Stampa but then quickly let it drop off the front page without retracting it. Smells bullshitty to me.

Here's a daesh supporter saying that the prayers said to be banned by isis in that mosul story a couple days ago are actually obligatory. (Doesnt mean that they didnt/wont ban them - could easily have done so to stop people gathering etc)

I really dont understand why more isnt done to get their blogs etc offline. Twitter seems to be crawling with them again but i suppose counterterrorism agencies ask for some of the accounts to be left up.

The obvious solution would be support for the definitely secular , multi ethnic , multi creed Syrian and Palestinian armed forces who are trying to wipe them out on the ground . But thats plainly unthinkable . Much better to accept another al Qaeda faction might be cuddly enough to support..sort of .
That view seems to be what Saudi money is paying the media to promote .

The wests much vaunted heavily vetted anti isil rebel force has managed to produce a grand total of 60 suitable candidates out of a pool of ten thousand rebel volunteers . That in itself tells us a great deal about these moderate rebels . That they aren't really all that moderate . Even if none of these ones are IS or AQ infiltrators that's 60 out of over ten thousand candidates deemed non potential Islamic nutters .

And if we bear in mind that kosovan head hacker for IS . And remember he was trained by the US in camp bondsteel , and served alongside the US in Afghanistan ..and that other US trained special forces chief who defected to IS .well even those paltry 60 don't look very hopeful .

Ultimately the vast majority of the internationally supported insurgency in Syria is Islamic fanaticism of one brand or another . IS and all the other terrorist groupings were all good mates in the beginning . Support for this international terrorist conspiracy is what destabilises Syria . The destabilisation of Syria is what makes IS thrive there . Finishing them off is pretty simple . Theres no need to even help the Syrians . Simply stop supporting the terrorists fighting there . Without foreign support they'll collapse pretty quickly and IS with them . In Syria at least .

We've had nonsense stories of mass beheadings of children by ISIS, crushing babies to death etc This one comes from a source with every motive to bullshit - and look whose ran with it, the mail and the express. No one serious appears to have touched it over the last 3 or 4 days since it was first spread. Little wonder.
Pathetic. As if you need to grotesque caricatures of evil to hate these people already. Serves only to inflame bigots or serve naive conspiracy theory. Click bait.

Only helps ISIS. They have a so called 'fact checking' account on twitter and no doubt contacts with links far more influential people. Fake propaganda could seriously impede any counter terrorist work or activism against them by making the opponents out to be liars and dupes. There's more than enough reasons to hate ISIS without making things up.

This is the moderate fsa talking about their Islamic uprising , foreign jihadis , their unfortunate excesses andsyrias future

All things in moderation , including moderation .

To be fair to the man even many Christians would consider there's a considerable difference between an idol and a church. Did he smash up the church too?

My thoughts when I looked it up on google news yesterday morning. Mirror, express ,mail and sixty odd rags I'd never heard of when I looked again a second ago.

Who could imagine an anti-assad muslim cleric in 2012 (presented with no context whatsoever, we do not know who he was with, what group, where, what happened to them etc) could argue that the uprising should take some sort of islamic form? This stuff btw mirrors exactly the stupid racism of gimesumtruf above - all sunni muslims are really secretly isis - to this flavour of paranoia they're just waiting for you to turn your back to slit your throat, the enemy within and without.

Btw, that al masdar site he's pretending is a news service is not - it's simply a blog pretending to be a news service (it has no journos, nothing), one ran by a fanatically pro-assad and pro-hezbollah, pro-iraqi shia chauvinist religious nutter.
