The Grand Tour

Five minutes in.

Have I ever been so conflicted?

Mr "oops I'm sorry I punched you at work, but I'm not *really* sorry" combined with an intro sequence that has giddying production values way beyond even the high standards of Top Gear, and shows where the Amazon money might have gone.

(Oh and it's not without subtle nods to Burning Man - the burner community won't like that. And fair dos.)

(Oh and be prepared to have a little sick. The presenters smugness is awful. "We're back, and we're brilliant" you can almost hear them saying... But oh my... those cars en masse in the desert, that's a mint shot)

I'm not going to watch it because Clarkson brings me out in rage but the producer was on R4 the other day basically saying that the desert shots were dirt cheap to do and look fantastic, but he'd apparently never heard of burning man.

I'm out. I won't subscribe to Amazon and don't want to see that lot ever again.
On Freeview, there are lots of good car porn programmes if I need them, more about cars that that lot ever do, together with some comedy and cheap tricks if you want them.

Thank you, goodnight.

An advert for the programme is currently all over IMDb. I actually mistook James May for Owen Wilson and presumed The Grand Tour was a new Wes Anderson movie.

I did, which is why I came to this bloody thread. Especially as I have just started reading Tim Moore's Continental Drifter about his Grand Tour, in a clapped out Rolls don't you know

Question on Amazon Prime; if we sign up to it, (£50-£90 a year depending on what deal you get), you get free next day delivery + Amazon Prime TV. But do you also get Netflix and all that shit too, or do we need to keep our subscription to that? And if we do get Netflix with prime, is it valid for three TV's as it currently is with our Netflix subscription???

Amazon is much better recently, it's got my favourite show, Mr Robot, and all 7 seasons of Parks and Rec (which I finally finished yesterday, sadly).

I watched it, pretty much the same as before but with more Americanism bullshit
, clearly pandering to Amazon. Though this might be due to the first episode being based in the USA. Will have to see what next week brings.
Hopefully less slapping each other backs too.

They could have a show where Clarkson repeatedly lays a steaming turd on the studio floor and it would still be a massive hit.
