For whatever reason, perhaps some very slow news days, the press has taken to announcing that here I am, the loneliest man in the whole lonely universe, with an orbit so lonely that my loneliness exceeds that of all lonely souls before me. Ridiculous. How could I be lonely? You have me and I have you (plus the fuel cell), and that view out the window.
21 hours, I looked it upWatching it on C4 atm.
They just left the LM and walked on the moon for the first time.
I forget how long they had on the surface?
Watching moon landing live on c4, even though it was 50 years ago you still feel the tension, relief and amazement, it makes me feel sad for hoaxers that they feel so inadequate in themselves that they would be so blind to humanities achievements that they'd believe a stupid lie.
Also, once the three of them were back in the command module, how did they get into the final piece, did it have a hatch in its bottom perhaps? The C4 program hasn't explained much about how the LM made its rendezvous with the command module. I imagine that could have been quite tricky?

I've watched this today. It's really good and has given me a lot more context around the whole thing. I had a tear in my eye quite often - it's incredibly moving and inspiring,....Robert Stone: Chasing The Moon docs on iPlayer.
That's at least part of why it's so enduringly incredible. The fact that they did do it in the 60s!It does seem really unlikely though, doesn't it? In the 60s
I'm not saying I think it's a hoax, just that it is pretty unbelievable that they got people to the moon and back again.
