The dog thread is better than the cat thread, because it features dogs.

When I look at all the pics theres always lots of dogs hanging out together. And then there's Willow. I suspect she mostly bugs the staff. It's done wonders for her though in how she interacts with other dogs when out (still not normally interested), but we were getting worried she was getting a bit snappy with big enthusiastic dogs who wanted to play with her.

Still here is one from today. Yes it's quiet at work...

That's hilarious. Looking at the other dogs at dogs club I've realised Willow has got pretty shaggy. We've never got her a hair cut.

We try to wash her once a week but often forget, but I've noticed that now her fur is longer she enters smelly dog mode quicker.

I think wirey terriers it's not as simple as clipping then and they need a longer process called stripping that not everyone does?

Yeah, basically.

A good example here would my immediate neighbour to my right. He has a cairn terrier that's about a quarter the size of Kail. However his dog has a longer, wirier coat. Consequently he paid the old groomer £50 a time as there was more work involved with a specialised cut etc. Kail is short haired so just gets his coat stripped and brushed out before washing and the nails etc. So I pay £35. It pisses my neighbour off something chronic. :D

A dog walking friend here had a husky and that beast set him back £100 a time.

You might be washing her too often. Wire coats repel dirt if left to their own devices, but if you wash the oils out they soak more up because they're softer. Cara only gets a bath if she's rolled in something grim, once every few months maybe. Otherwise she just gets a brush. Mud doesn't really stick to her, and what little does dries and falls off.

Maybe I've got so used to her stink I don't notice it :D

edit: she's a skinny rake mind you, so she doesn't get that sweaty dog stink.

Maybe we are. It's definitely got worse though as her hair has got longer. Is like human hair where it would just be grim for ages whilst we wait? I'm not sure i can stand that.

It's daft but I'm also slightly embarrassed taking her to dogs club when she's smelly greasy terrier.

Lily's been with us for nearly three months and has really developed her own personality now. She's a right pita in a lot of ways - the collection of odd socks she had accumulated under our bed and sat atop of like smaug for instance - but she's utterly adorable and her and Obi-wan are inseparable.

In other news, it's been over a month since her last indoor indiscretion, which is a relief.

Ted took to Bahnhof faster than I’ve seen him take to anyone, to be frank. It’s those (ex-) collie owner vibes. Plus he recognised a good-un.

He was very happy on Friday night generally. Although he still gets nervous of strangers, he does love a gathering of the people he likes, and all his favourites were in the pub together. He was over the moon.

He reappeared shortly after with a not quite dead crow in his mouth. He then got overexcited and ran round the field 3 more times making sure everybody could see he'd got a not quite dead crow in his mouth. While he was completing his victory laps, the rest of the crows were flying round the field trying to dive bomb him and making a fearsome racket.

We were quite the scene

The trauma of the loss of tail is finally over. Last night was first night without the lampshade, after stitches came out Tuesday. I’d been leaving it on while at work and overnight for a few days, because I really wanted to make sure it was healing well and that he wasn’t licking or worrying it particularly. Wednesday morning was his first walk for a month when he could actually run and he was so happy. (Couldn’t attach video). Phew.
