The dog thread is better than the cat thread, because it features dogs.

Could previous owner not handle them?

Sorry, but I can't discuss the reasons they were put into rescue.

Not 100% sure I should even be posting pics of them on here as they are not up for adoption yet. :hmm:

:( at sad doggy on the right

You're right.

One doggy was treating it as a great adventure but the other one was not so keen on the adventure. But they were both so well behaved I'm sure they'll settle in to foster care easily.

Sorry, yes I did wonder when I was posting whether I should be asking at all.

anti-histamine cream if you have any. I'm sure I remember they can be used with dogs

Eta:

Steroid sprays, gels, and creams. OTC steroid preparations contain a lower percentage of active ingredients than prescription steroids and are usually very safe. The upside is that they decrease the itchiness of insect bites and hot spots. The downside is that steroids can delay healing especially if the wound is infected. If your dog’s wound does not look better after a couple of applications, have it evaluated by your veterinarian.

Depends which ones. Best to check with vet first if thinking to do this.

What to do if your dog is stung by a bee or wasp

"Some people recommend over the counter antihistamines when your dog has been stung, but certain ingredients in different brands can be fatal to animals. If you choose to do this, you should always check with your vet to make sure you are giving the right drug, and in the right quantity for your dog’s size and weight."

tbh Rebelda I would just give her lots of care and attention, perhaps some ice cubes wrapped in a towel, I don't think wasp stings usually (on humans) irritate for too long, so hopefully she will get over it before too long.

She's 13 weeks.

Maybe looks guilty as she was winding up my brother's old spaniel. Daniel is very friendly to people but less keen on other dogs but Reya was basically being like a toddler following him around imitating him and wanting to play when he really didn't!

Really good meeting Steve yesterday :)

I/we were a bit worried that it would all be a bit too emosh going back to the kennels but it was brilliant.

Steve is a teenager and it shows :D He's good on a short lead but all over the shop if the lead's loose and he can't feel it and he's incredibly, hyper alert (until he falls asleep obvs). Taking him for a walk was really good fun & I can't wait to get some miles in with him. I had a chat and got some background - he did his race training from 12-20 or so months but ultimately didn't make the cut. As he's in excellent condition - no evidence of breaks/muscle injuries/scars etc, the woman who's been looking after him for the last month thinks he just hasn't got much of a prey drive. Also because he's not been raced, he's had a good diet and his teeth are perfect - usually a real pain for ex-racers.

She thinks he might be up for training as he's all about the treats rather than the chase. When they put Trevor The Stunt Terrier in with the new greyhounds, Steve hung around waiting for the treats rather than chasing Trev which is a good sign. (Although he's looking a bit frisky in the photos ).

Steve's also pretty hench.
