The Closing Ceremony

I thought it was incoherent and boring. At the opening ceremony one could follow the narrative and there was so much going on. I also thought the sound was bad as was camera direction - too many far off shots. When it was explained yesterday that something was meant to represent evening rush hour I was completed befuffled (is that word?).

They should have put on the Chemical Brothers and then filmed everybody as they filed out of the stadium - totally high and befuffled (it's a word NOW! I have just made it one :D)

Jesus christ that was shit. what a disappointment. why didnt danny boyle direct it?
Oh I dunno after the brilliantly bonkers opening cermoney and the hugely successful games itself I can forgive them for last nights exhibition of meh.

one direction. and a ginger singing pink floyd covers. and liam gallagher.

a country with so much musical talent and thats what we got. who was the cunt who directed that?

Bowie never seems to appear in events like this anymore, think the last time he did was the Freddie Mercury concert 20 years ago.

God that was dull, predictable, criminally lacking in imagiantion and ultimately life-sapping after a glourious cynic-busting event. Says something that the best act were pensioners playing tunes from over 40 years ago - hardly a showcase of the vibrancy, diversiveness and inventiveness of brit popular culture. Really bad in comparison to the opening cermony.

i think he's essentially retired - i read somewhere he had a heart attack a couple of years ago and isn't interested in performing anymore.

To be fair Olympic closing cermonies never linger long in the memory anyway, more important to make sure the opening ones are memorable.
