I was no fan of thatcher but found that cringeworthy. What was it 200 people and a dog?

Would you have had a different opinion if she had died at the hight at her political power?..as opposed to being a fraigile old women????..
Perhaps your a bit younger that some of us here on this site and you dont actually realise the effects of her political and economic stargety on the dispossed and the voices in the wilderness....
As an Irish Republican i wont take any leassons from a stranger like you...
Oh and excuse me love just how old are you and can even comment on events of that era when it actually didnt even impact on you,,,,

Sadly her and the continuing policies she invented/started affect every single one of us, every minute, every hour, every day.

We are all entitled to comment on history.

Absolutely....but as i lived through her attempted crimalisation of the of the Irish republican movement...and history belongs to no one....im interested in this persons prespective..seeing as he/she is a moderater and feels free to critic other posts/....

He's not a mod, he's a long-standing poster who uses the board name 'mod'. And you are massively overreacting.

Well actually im not as it happens Butchers....
Today i went to visit me mums grave in Milltown cemerty...(its a stones throw from the republican plot)...
and it brought back memoirs of the Micheal Stone attack at the cemerty...in which i was injured as we chased that cunt Stone on to the motor way and even then i fucking knew that it was the polices of that bitch that facilitated that attack along with the FRU involvement.......
So you will forgive me for the memorys of standing outside Joe Mc donnells house in Lenadoon Avenue...while the RUC beat us of our own streets...perhaps you will forgive me for the venenhemce that i hold towards that women...
she could (and should ) have facilitated a political agreement that would have seen ending of all armed conflicts in our country and yet there was that bit in her that was determined to get back at the provos for the killing of Neive et all..and to teach the irish a lesoon.......
So have a good evening but i i wll be the person that determines if ive over reacted.....

I'm 40.

Her defiance and ruthlessness towards the IRA was her greatest quality in my opinion. The rest of her politics I didn't care for though.

Don't forget Thatcher signed the Anglo-Irish agreement which paved the way for peace talks and eventually the 1998 Good Friday agreement.

I am not a moderator by the way. I'm a mod as it 60s throwback.

No you won't. You have massively overreacted to someone having an opinion that differs from you and you've done it whilst being totally confused about the identity of the person you're shouting at. Lucky you've not got something dangerous in your hands with that sort of behaviour. And not a single person has said a thing to you about thatcher on this bloody thread, not a single person has said that you're wrong to hate her, to be glad at the celebrations or that your memories don't deserve an airing.

So at the very time she was telling the british people that the IRA were going to be denied the "oxegen of publicity"" MI5 at her insistence where having meetings with gerry adams and the IRA army council...in Chequers....do you even know your own history fella.....jesus christ

Yes I was aware of this.

I love the Day to Day's take on the fact we weren't allowed to hear Gerry Adams' actual voice on TV but was dubbed by an actor.

In their version by law the speaker had to breath helium before being allowed to speak in an attempt to undermined their message when they sound like Mickey Mouse.

Granted.....(above)....but the only thing i have in my hand is a keyboard...your implication that i might might be dangerous in some other circumstance is pure conjecture on your part........

Sure looks like a lot more than 200 to me. What do you think?

erm, no, cem, 'mod' is his board name, and it refers to a youth/music/fashion movement from the mid-60s:D

I count 389. Well done. Cringeworthy either way.

Criticise her policies and ideology sure (and I shall) but celebrate her death? Come on.

And again for the record I wasn't a fan.

Irvine Welsh put it nicely.

"So, if u take out Orgreave, destroying communities, Belgrano/Falklands, Hillsborough, protecting nonces, child poverty, Pinochet, she was ok"
